Steam, Moonlight, Greenlight, and Chiaki-ng (Chiaki4deck) all stream really well from home PCs, Xbox, PS4/PS5. The battery life is awesome and it works much better than I expected.
The Steam Deck might as well be the Stream Deck it works so well.

The 7 hours 8 minutes figure on Dead Cells is the Steam Deck OLED.
The Legion Go S with SteamOS is 6h 12m vs the 2h 47m under Windows.
I'm completely with the complaint that Windows can't suspend / resume reliably like other operating systems. Suspending a running game is more complex (but SteamOS handles it) but if you can't reliably suspend Windows with a few applications running (browser, editor, etc) there isn't much hope for games.
Valve has figured out the mobile gaming experience and Microsoft is way behind. Unless they start shipping a Xbox style "game mode" for Windows 11 to mimic SteamOS, they will be stuck with the same user experience issues of having a Windows desktop experience on a mobile device. Not what I'm looking for and I'm an IT person.

Is anyone using this with No Man’s Sky? What are your thoughts?
I’m guessing Space Engineers needs too many keys to be practical. What about Astroneer
I’ll have to look for some videos showing. It sounds super interesting.

Chiaki-by works really well for me. I use it on my Steam Deck a ton. Sometimes Remote Play on my PS4 Pro crashes and I have to go to the console and restart it. I’m not sure if that is Chiaki-nag’s fault but it usually only happens after several hours of playing.
The sweet thing about streaming to the Steam Deck is that it uses a lot less battery than a local game.

That didn't last long - the Junk Store for Steam Deck has its Steam page removed (updated)

Valve allows adding non Steam games to Steam. They should allow a tool to add/manage non Steam games. It is less of an issue for people using desktop Steam, but non Steam games/apps on the Steam Deck is clunky.
Fortunately the EU or someone will eventually force them to allow 3rd party game stores to have the same user experience on the Steam Deck. Right after Apple iOS opens up. 😀
