If you act fast you can grab a key for the demo of Disgaea 2 and it runs on Linux already

Quoting: cybikAaaaaaaaaaaand I sunk about 21 hours in 3 days in this game. Damn it.
A demo? 21 hours? I'm almost afraid to give it a proper go myself.
Well the demo itself is only the start of the game, BUT at the end of the demo's contents, they say you can import your demo savegame into the full game.

So I'm grinding levels and some of my weapons as well.

Quoting: KeyrockIn fairness, the Disgaea series games are better RPGs than anything BioWare has made in the past 6 years. :P

Quoting: coesetaThanks for the update.

I just hope that my arcade stick also works on Linux. Otherwise I have to buy a new one. Does anyone have experience with arcade sticks on Linux?
That part of the code I know personally, as I wrote the SDL input hooks for the Skullgirls engine. It supports SDL_Joystick and SDL_GameController (as well as keyboard input recently), and through SDL_Joystick, my Madcatz PS3 Namco Tournament Edition fightstickS work (yes, plural :D). SDL_GameController takes care of the X360 wired pads.

Quoting: abelthorneNot sure if it's the video, the Linux port or the original game but isn't the sound a bit off, with hits being heard slightly too early?
There are still some issues with the audio that need to be fixed for the port. We're aware of them, and they won't sound off the way they do in the vid here. It's just intended as a work-in-progress video so the people who've been patiently waiting for the port can have some sort of update and keep up hope!
I took the video. I can also confirm the sound setup on my G55VW is a bit, er, weird.

Quoting: IgnisI'll believe when I see it running in native 64-bit glory :} Linux could use some fighting games, that's for sure.
Actually...

* I'm working on the clean-up, integration and implementation of what's needed on an x86_64 Funtoo
* The screenshots were taken on an x86_64 Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
* The newest video I posted was done on my Funtoo, too.

Good enough?
