Marathon from Bungie is out March 5th - likely unplayable on SteamOS Linux

Quoting: JarmerNobody from the Bungie glory days are still around. The suits are running the show, and when this doesn't get instahit status, which it won't, they'll shut it down.

Nothing to see here, just a shambling corpse. Safe to move on.
Do you know where they went? I really played the game a lot and I still like many aspects of it. But over the last few years, you could just tell how little art, story, etc., mattered anymore. It became all about grabbing cash. But I’d at least be interested in seeing what the talented people who used to be at Bungie have put together now.

Fedora Linux devs discuss dropping 32-bit packages - potentially bad news for Steam gamers
25 Jun 2025 at 8:46 am UTC

I use Fedora but I am not such much into all the technical stuff behind. But: guess it's time for Valve to move on to a "modern" 64-bit-base. Also but: Valve doesn't give a **** about what other people want. They always do their thing. So I guess we can hope for a 64-bit-version but I do not except anything coming soon.

So IF Fedora drops this libs I am pretty sure there will be workarounds or other things that keep steam running. If not (or with problems) then it's time for me to look for another distro. But I guess that will not be necessary.

Dune: Awakening will have BattlEye enabled for Linux, SteamOS / Steam Deck

Didn't realise this was Funcom, one of the more controversial publisher's out there. Their moderators are... concerning. Some of the Conan stories I've heard are really worrying.
What do you mean? Their forum mods? I just ask because I was one a long time ago for The Secret World.

Dear Remedy, sincerly hope you're the next devolper getting pulverized by capitalism. You earned it!
I disagree. Yes, they made some shitty business decisions and it already started with Alan Wake as an Xbox exclusive. Then they decided to get Epic exklusive and even killed the retail version for Alan Wake 2.

But: Remedy is one of the last (or the last?) bigger studios which develops singleplayer games in new universes without producing sequel after sequel after sequel. The try stuff other studios are afraid of instead of trying to build a cashcow with a live service game and microtransactions.

itch.io store was taken down by Funko due to "trash AI Powered" phishing report
10 Dec 2024 at 9:04 am UTC

Quoting: ShabbyXCurious, what did itch put in the "disputed page" to trigger this?
From this article [External Link]:
"Itch.io co-founder Leaf Corcoran offered more context in a post on Hacker News and said the phishing reported filed by Funko and Brand Shield related to a fan page for a video game called Funko Fusion, which is based on the Funko Pop! toy line.

"From what I can tell, some person made a fan page for an existing Funko Pop video game (Funko Fusion), with links to the official site and screenshots of the game," wrote Corcoran."

That makes it even more ridiculous.
