Quoting: slaapliedjeThe difference is at least there is some adrenaline going when you're trying to run from a mob of PKers (I believe that term originated in UO) and trying to hurry up and whip up your marked stones so you can teleport away to town, or wherever, it is at least a rush. Instead most modern MMOs are only a grind where you wonder aimlessly about, generally running around town in a circle to collect all of the available quests, then run out in the wilderness, again in a big circle, completing the quests, then returning to town to get the reward (again in a big circle). Rinse and repeat.In effect, you are replacing grind with grind & fear. Hardly worth sinking that much time into. Fighting games work better for healthy adrenaline thing, IMO. Well, they'd have been if there were any released for Linux in the last millenia %)

Quoting: slaapliedjeWow, freaking wussies.We've got tough guy here, eh? MMO is a game where you are expected to die many times. All that mechanic does is promoting MORE grinding. As if there isn't enough of that in MMOs.

> after you lost everything
Cool story, bro.

@Khudsa, other than the fact that it's platform-specific 3rd party code I don't think there were any statements.

@Stupendous Man, unlikely to happen unless they rewrite that cloak thing themselves as it works only in Windows, AFAIR.

Personally, I liked Pillar's story. The batlle system however… it's, well, fine, aside from bugs. But it is really messed up whenever everyone are mixed together. What's happening? Who's doing what? Who knows :}
