" With 90/100€ versions and paid expansion DLC? " - you can get good discounts on this game.
"Fixed the incessantly stupid teammate AI?" - its not much worse than l4d AI IMHO. And its pretty bad if you play with 2 other player, but 3 AI and you alone - it makes game more playable. Not on hardest difficulty mind you, but its good enough.
"What about the non-existent support" - with Linux there is never any support with proton games, almost never.
"boring updates" - game is abandoned, i am amazed they released a patch.
"the bloody card system" - LOVE IT. L4D was too easy, difficulty was purely based on amount of undead director would spawn. Very if at all small random deviation in L4D, same play style all the time. Find weapon you are good at, equip, shoot.
" no mod support" - i never cared about mods, never did.
"L4D2 is the superior game on all counts" - no it's not. See above. It's better technically. From graphics/technical sand point(better textures, better overall graphics, better sound, that changes in tunnels and outside of them), to variations of enemeies, variations in possible builds, variations of hazards.(for example map may be caught on 'fire', you get more molotovs and canisters, but there are some fire immune zombies that also do small fire damage, or map is now night time with fog, etc etc, may be your team is hungry and you need to constantly eat food to not loose HP but if fed well, you regen HP). You have economy, scavanging, profeciencies of characters, mechanics of trauma, that is much more difficult to cure compared to just HP lost. Game is so much more rich on content.

Quoting: dpanterThat's pretty sweet! Good move devs."Is the game good yet?" - its flawed but good game. You can't kick randoms if you allow randoms to join. May be tad too hard to find people to play with. But it is fun re-playable game.
So. Is the game good yet? Still keeping that 60€ pricetag on a 2021 release? With 90/100€ versions and paid expansion DLC? Fixed the incessantly stupid teammate AI? What about the non-existent support, sadge gameplay, boring updates, the bloody card system, no mod support... oh well.
L4D2 is the superior game on all counts, choose wisely.

Hades II gets Steam Deck Verified and a surprise Early Access release

At the end of day, big amount of people are not indicator of game quality/goodness.(majority do vote for Biden/Trump!)
With that said, what I have seen is ALSO a superior product to previous game. It clearly is. At least in my books. Hence increase can be explained. First game created hype. So even those who did not play it are aware of it. And now second comes out 'bigger better' version... Some new people get it.

Quoting: Liam DaweWell, Hades II has already beaten the all-time concurrent player peak on Steam by quite a lot, so it's clearly very popular :)I am a little amazed. I wonder how much of it is returning fan base.

First one was not a bad game but they tap into ever decreasing audience.
I am not going to buy second game if I don't beat first one.
And I did not beat it.(frankly lost interest, game is monotonous as fuck, even with different skills)
Could I beat it? Yes, I went 60% into game, but I grew bored.

I necropost here because its first time in over a year I logged in again.
Yes, 7 days to die may have worse performance, BUT, it offers so many more "blocks"/"textures" and you have to remember, its voxel based game:
https://www.gamersnexus.net/gg/762-voxels-vs-vertexes-in-games [External Link]
compared to many other games, 7days to die is ALLOWED to have performance hit. You have to remember, a good looking game world, where you can destroy 99.999% of ALL matter in it - will be significanlty more taxing than Vertex based game. And with that it still looks better than Valhem. And 7 days to die is very much enjoyable single player. In fact, it creates nice atmosphere of being cut off from rest of world and damning feeling of being all alone.(ok, plane drops break it a little)

Quoting: drlambThis game is leagues more polished and performant than 7 Days to Die, which what, has been in development since 2014?Yes, its in perpetual development.

I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHY.
Crap graphics(low polly). Clear alpha quality. Performance is utter crap.(playable, with low polly where you see individual squares on items it is playable, but on my decent rig i get around 60 fps and no, i get more sometimes, so no vsync)
Single player is marginally worse than multiplayer. And multiplayer is plain boring.
No character progression not counting crafting techniques.
Killed first two bosses so far, monster are bland and non exciting. Typical damage sponges. Battle is decent, but absolutely NOTHING to write home about.
Some events happen. Once a few in game days monsters will attack you in your fort. 4-5 monsters will come. Which if you are smart you will disp
Do yourself a favour and buy 7 days to die.
