Worked perfectly with my SC for the most part

Yeah it's great. I used the second profile down.

Although Steam is lying as it appears to expect controller support anyway. So I think it would work with a 360 controller too.

Maybe he can iterate over it and improve it a bit.

SteamOS updated & Steam Client Beta adds support for 2x scaling for those with 4K monitors and more

Excellent. It was very annoying when linux 4k meant tiny steam text. Especially when scaling works on windows ( not that I'd know that. Ahem. )

The 'GPD Win 2' could be an interesting device for Linux gaming on the go

Yeah not much speed improvement than the 1 but big cost increase.

slaapliedjeI still remember the happy days of the mga driver, where it was fully open source, but I think there was a binary firmware to enable multiple monitors (since at the time they were the only ones able to drive more than one screen on a single card.) These days it is fully open source, but sadly only a very few server boards actually have the Matrox video built in.
Ahh. I remember playing NWN on a G400 on Mandrake Linux back then

I so used to love Mandrake Linux. Was my distribution of choice for some time

I'd use an open driver over the nvidia blob if it was better. But I don't see why I have to use exclusively open source stuff. One of the reasons I use Linux over windows is because I simply prefer it. I suppose I don't have as high open source ideals as some. But that isn't my prime reason for using the os.

I still use 970 with nvidia binary driver. It works. I don't have tearing etc. To those saying about compiling from source, if we want an upturn in the amount of Linux users we need to make this unnecessary. Sure we can all do these tasks but many will balk at this task and go back to windows.
