Quoting: cbonesI really enjoyed Project Highrise. I also ran into this "second run" issue but it resolved for me from this forum post:Thanks, I stopped following a year or so ago when they didn't do anything with it. Glad to know the fix is quite simple. Hope it helps others seeing this.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is officially coming to Linux in 2019

Like the previous Tomb Raider, Alex from Feral mentioned somewhere on Reddit how he re-did a bunch of the actual renderer for better Linux performance. That's the kind of effort I never want to see leave Linux gaming.
It's not just that though, it's the actual support you get as a customer that's important.
Still, Steam Play absolutely for me for games that are multiple years old and likely to never be ported.

Quoting: GuestAnother guaranteed sale for them. I'll grab this soon as I can.Bingo. Feral's ports are specifically tweaked directly to run as good as they can possibly do it on Linux in the time they have. Quite different to Proton, which has such a big target I would be surprised if a Feral port ever performed worse than DXVK with Steam Play.
To those saying "Proton": well, you know, it doesn't work for everyone. And it actually doesn't perform as well as the native ports for everyone - while I may be in the minority (even within the overall few percentage that is GNU/Linux gaming), I do get better performance from native, broadly speaking. And that's true for basically everything I've tried - The Witcher 2 (yes, I know, but eON ran better than wine), Dawn of War II series (I played them through wine before Feral ported them, but the Feral ports run _much_ better), Rise of the Tomb Raider, and others. Considering my aging hardware, this is really important for me: Feral's ports I can play, "Proton" variants I cannot for more demanding games.
So yeah, native from Feral absolutely worth it as far as I'm concerned.

Quoting: AllocYes, confirmed across two completely different computers. I would never, ever write such a thing I haven't seen first-hand as if I have. As mentioned, it's a bug that doesn't happen across all distros. It happened on Sin's Streaming PC and my secondary PC, while it didn't show up on my main PC. Also seen reports of people with it in our Discord. I was thinking it was a performance problem since it didn't happen on my main PC, but using the workaround on Sin's PC instantly fixed it.The famous Unity double-input bug is here to crash the party!Did you actually test it or was that a generic assumption from other games? Just curious because I had an eye on that Unity issue and while I never got it myself one of our QA got this when we were running on the 2018.1.* release cycle. But that issue was reported to be fixed in Unity 2018.2 and no one was able to reproduce it after we updated.

Quoting: EhvisLiam, did you open all your packs. How would you rate the total package with all the cards? Probably to early to tell much about the actual play, but maybe the diversity. Many duplicates? Some of the rares I got were, well, very interesting! Each pack was pretty varied actually, a few duplicates as expected but not overly so. Since (in the linked post) they will let you convert dupes into tickets if you wish then it should become more interesting and fair. On top of that, duplicates aren't a bad thing, since decks can contain multiples of the same card.

Quoting: scaineWhat const and denyasis said: some of my favourite space games are 2D. SPAZ, Reassembly, Captain Forever Remix, Nimbatus, Gravity Ace, Galak-Z, Drox Operative... there are probably others I love too.The thing is, I can count a lot more 2D space sims done well, than 3D. Most 3D space sims end up boring, as it's a lot harder to fill all that extra space and make use of it to the point of making it interesting.
3D space sims can be amazing if they're done well, but their 2D brethren tend to keep my interest far longer, perhaps because so few 3D games are done well. Perhaps the added complexity trips them up? Who knows.

Quoting: AllocSeems like Sin will be happy then! What is your role on the pimps team?Quoting: WorMzyWill be interesting to see if The Fun Pimps actually come through this time. Historically they've been very lousy with their Linux/Mac support, uncommunicative when they break the various builds, and pretty shitty to people who ask them about what problems they're facing. It would be nice to see that they've grown as developers and actually test their builds before they release them, and are open and communicative when things go wrong. They might actually make it off my blacklist if they can demonstrate that.Suppose you're talking about pre A10? From that time on I always tried to make sure no one was left out with new releases and I definitely gave as much support to everyone on the forum as possible considering I also have to work on my dev tasks ;)
(Yeah, there was this one alpha (14 iirc) that had a broken OpenGL shader for a while ... would have liked to fix that but no clue about shaders myself and the graphics dev back then was busy with other stuff unfortunately. But it was communicated)
So far this release seems pretty stable though :)
