Quoting: CarollyHonest question for you, why is it that year after year you stick your nose up in the air over great distros like Nobara, CachyOS, and PikaOS, in favour of large corporate-backed projects? Any of them are excellent distros for gaming and more than just "a few tweaks and a new theme" (and generally they make it very easy to install Nvidia drivers - Nobara and Pika even offer ISOs with the Nvidia drivers preloaded!)Because there is usually little point in them outside of niche use cases for people far beyond power users that care about random library optimisations. Most of them do tweaks that 99% of people just don't need. I've also been burned in the past by these fringe distros having all sorts of issues, or just vanishing on you. It's better for normies to stick to the bigger lot, because they're tried and tested with good support overall.
I'm curious if you've tried running any of the three in recent years. You might actually enjoy using them if you gave them a shot.

Quoting: chickenb00I've been idly thinking of buying a used Lenovo Legion Go as well as I really admire the removable joycons. I would also load Bazzite onto it. What's your impression Liam? I'd like to hear about it, but it might also make a compelling YouTube video! An article will be up this week on it.

Quoting: XpanderNot just that but there really is absolutely no other game that combines everything like ARC Raiders does for PvPvE.Quoting: vic-bayi can't agree with arc raiders victory in the innovations category, because there were zero innovations in the game. to be honest i doubt there can be significant innovations in video games in general. in the last 30-40 years almost every possible idea has been already tried. not every possible combination of ideas, but combining existing ideas is not innovation. everything else looks okay, at least people voted for it.But there is. The innovation is the NPC AI. They adapt and learn how to get to you. They adapt if they have broken propellers etc. Now i'm sure there have been games trying to do that before, but in a multiplayer setting i think it’s the first in this area.

Quoting: Brokatt"Yeah but it's only this one thing...it's only these two things...", that doesn't change anything. It's still there, and they will be expanding on it all clearly from their plans. There's no FUD here. Not agreeing is not FUD.Quoting: Liam DaweYou're referring to the different chat bot providers that are optional and can be turned off in the settings menu? To even remotely compare this to what Google's planning with Chrome borders on FUD.Quoting: BrokattWell no, because right now it's just words, the settings to turn it all off are hidden behind flags you have to know how to find to disable.Quoting: Liam DaweI mean I know the Mozilla hate train is always loaded with pitchforks and ready to leave the station, but isn't that a bit disingenuous? So far Mozilla have stayed true to their first statement and AI is always optional. Should that change I will uninstall Firefox in a heartbeat but until then I'm perfectly happy with it as my default browser. I don't see AI being any different from other services like search, email etc in that I will use it if it respects my privacy.Quoting: kuhpunktWhat does that even mean.It means you will use AI and you will like it. There is no escape. Consume!
