Quoting: corqSo is this solid? As in, pre-order on Steam solid...
Never, never, never buy a game until a Linux version is actually available to download at the time of purchase. This can't be said enough, apparently.
Bingo.

No matter what or who is doing it, never ever do it. For one thing, why buy and get nothing? Wait until it's actually out.

Quoting: liamdawe@Twomby, you likely need to update your driver.
Also, as stated, click Advanced.
Whether I click Basic or Advanced, I get the same screen. Should have posted a screengrab with Advanced settings to avoid confusion. My NVIDIA drivers are the latest version (375.10 BETA).
Try the 375.26 driver.

Quoting: PicoboomOoooo neat-o! I'll take a look at grabbing a copy of Lugaru, then. I was under the impression that Lugaru was sort of the predecessor to Overgrowth, but it sounds like it's also a part of Overgrowth as well? Do I understand that correctly?
It is the predecessor in terms of games, but they seem to have added in the campaign to Overgrowth. I don't own Overgrowth to test how they have done it, whether they've made it part of the game or some sort of prelude campaign you do.

Ballistic Overkill, possibly my current favourite online FPS updated, available in more countries now too

Never had a problem finding a game, as soon as we join an empty server it fills up within minutes.

Hard to compete with the bigger ones for market though, especially since it's still in-development.

I completely get people like different services :). Use whatever makes you happy, it's just another option that's quite popular. It's great to see it get official status for Linux.

Quoting: rustybroomhandleNow you're the one speculating. ;)
Am I now?

Quoting: rustybroomhandleThe things I am saying are based solely on their communication regarding this port.
I mentioned this to others before. See this comment here, but for the lazy:
Quoting: liamdaweI still think you guys are looking at it the wrong way.

Just because a game has been ported to Mac doesn't suddenly mean it's easy to port to Linux.

Who says that checking the feasibility of a port doesn't mean a ton of work has already been done? What if they have come up against major issues they are trying to solve? The word feasibility can mean a great many things.

We don't have enough information to make wild claims about Aspyr dropping Linux or anything else.
And again, I was right. If it's coming "soon" like they say, there's no way it wasn't planned for.

Quoting: ajgp
Quoting: rustybroomhandleThey originally announced the Mac port and that was it. Then only after Linux users started begging they said they were going to do a feasibility analysis. The Linux version was not intended from the beginning.

This is a simple recount of how it happened - not intended to be hostile, and no need to be defensive about it.
It took some digging but the official CIV 6 twitter specifically stated Linux as a platform they did that on 11th May 2016

https://twitter.com/CivGame/status/730440440437055490 [External Link]

Granted that was a s much as I could find "easily".
Keep digging then, specifically looking at the Aspyr posts. If we did not demand and jump around, there would have been no Linux port.

That Civ official Twitter post you linked is exactly why we were all so sad when Civ dropped and Linux was nowhere to be seen.
Stop posting your speculation as if it's fact.

The fact is a Linux version is coming. Do you think it would be coming "soon" if it wasn't planned for? Ports can take months to a year to actually finish, so to think otherwise makes me think you have some kind of issue with Aspyr that you're taking out on them here.
