I haven't tried the Steam Controller personally, but you do need a bit of accuracy for the aiming, especially for headshots on the tougher enemies.
I'm sure with practice you could get good at it.

Well the developer seems open to using a more up to date open tool now after i messaged them:
I believe that we'll continue the Hexoscope development because we have interesting gameplay ideas and want to share that ideas implementation with our gamers. In such a case I think that we'll switch our engine from Adobe AIR to Haxe. I hope it'll be rather soon.From the same forum post [External Link].

About the demo:
There unfortunately won't be a Linux version of the current demo but in the future there will be a updated demo which should feature support for Linux. Sorry!From the forum post [External Link].

I refuse to boot into Windows now though, far too scared of the reports of it nuking other partitions with the new update.
As for console, yes, I purchased it when it first came out, I think it's a nice platform too.

For those having the BattleEye error, are you trying to join servers running this older version? It's likely most servers are running the more up to date Windows builds (which obviously won't work).
