You can edit configs in the normal Steam client now, but to actually still use the configs and have it work as a proper gamepad you still need to load games from Big Picture mode.

Quoting: GoboI've added an additional bit to that section to further clarify.I am still waiting for the day when you don’t have to use Big Picture for itWait a sec, does the steam controller only "work" in Big Picture, or do you only need Big Picture to setup the device like advertised on the shop page?
RequirementsIf it really requires you to run BP just to use the controller on a game, that sounds like a stupid thing to start with.
A Steam Machine or other computer capable of running Steam Big Picture Mode, in order to view, edit, save, and share Steam Controller mappings.

Reminder: minimum means minimum tested, Feral can't be expected to keep extremely old (in hardware cycle terms) around to test.

All settings were the same of course. 4K always uses more resources in all games I've tested. Some games are unplayable at 4K.

Quoting: GuestWhile true, it depends on what they are doing. Using a higher OpenGL version wouldn't always result in higher performance.Quoting: ThePierrasseWow Vulkan is just murdering OpenGLWhile this is all nice for one particular game, and I'm sure there will be performance benefits across the board anyway, it's a bit early for such a generalised statement. Especially when the OpenGL version is of such importance. At least on my rig, Talos is using GL3.0, GLSL 130. Modern OpenGL (i.e GL4.5) would allow much greater performance improvements.
Again though, that they have something nicer with Vulkan is good. Just don't expect it everywhere.

Added in a chart for them all together. Vulkan is clearly leading the way now for my testing, which is great news, and this isn't even final.

Wow, some interesting setups here guys.
@pete910, that's a fantastic desk. Really would love to have my PC inside it like that, where did you get it? Or did you make it? Hard to tell if it's a custom thing.
