IMPORTANT! To get this to work, you will have to already have the game in your Steam library
Does this mean to get the Linux version I have to install the Windows version?

Typical!
No, it means you have to actually own the game. It's not a free beta.

RollerCoaster Tycoon World now planning on Early Access, Linux is not day-1

Quoting: TakamaraGlad I held off preordering - should have seen this coming when the initial betas were Windows only. Oh well, got Parkitect to keep me busy - at least they've kept to their promise of a Linux version rather than the same old story of 'not being ready' - AKA pushed to the side so they're only working on the Windows version and then when they finally get round to doing it it takes far longer than it would have done if they had worked on it at the same time.
Parkitect is going to be great indeed :)

Quoting: BillNyeTheBlackGuyOverreacting much? Modern day Atari has always been crooked, but I don't see what they did wrong here. Most linux game release have never been day one. They NEVER promise a day one release. They simply said they're targetting a Linux release date.
You and I obviously have very different views on things. If a developers says it will have a Linux version, and right up until release it mentions Linux, I expect a Linux release.

Call it whatever you want, but it's crap communication and I expect better.

They never promised a day-1 release, but it should never have mentioned Linux on the store page if it wasn't going to be. People pre order and spend their money on what developers say remember, only to get burnt by missing Linux versions time and time again.

Also, their wording implies a Linux day-1 release. If you read it properly. They mention Mac is after the target of Windows and Linux/SteamOS.

You may think it's overreacting, but I will keep pointing out developers that do stuff like this.

Two Worlds II to get major engine upgrade, new DLC and SteamOS & Linux support

Quoting: KeyrockTwo Worlds 2. I played this game years ago. It starts off weak, gets better through the mid part, then gets worse near the end, capping off with what I consider to be the single worst final boss fight I have ever had the displeasure to play.

They aren't saying exactly when the SteamOS & Linux support will land, but it's likely in "Q2 2016" along with the first DLC named "Two Worlds II: Call of the Tenebrae" (take a look at the logos listed there now too).
It's the first recent DLC. There's already a DLC called Pirates of the Flying Fortress. It's slightly better than the base game, largely because the final boss fight isn't awful and the loot is marginally more interesting.
Poor wording on my part, I meant the first of the new announced DLC.

Quoting: enzTo be fair, he said "we are targeting a release on Steam OS", which sounds more like an intent than a promise. A promise would have been if he had said "we will do a release on Steam OS".
That's exactly the same meaning, but adjusted wording.

Quoting: psyminGame isn't visible in the game library under linux so we cannot enable the beta :(
Can you not switch to "Games", then enter the access code on it? You can still see non-Linux games on Linux.
