They just added the Linux system req for the DLC, so it looks like it will be a day-1 release.

Quoting: Blackthorne519Also, I have been beta-ing GoG galaxy, and if you're a non-Steam user, I think you may really like it. I'm excited to develop for it, and use features like achievements on it.Well, we need devs to hound them to release a Linux client of it ;)

Quoting: amonobeaxBut if you say so Liam I'll give it a new try asap. And check if it got fixed.I'm only saying that we had two games with four players, and both went smooth. If your experience with much larger matches is different then it possibly is, but I haven't been in a game that's had an issue with performance that badly.

Quoting: amonobeaxGuys I have this game and... I just can't recomend it.Well the most I've done is 4 players in a game, and we did two games of this today and it worked perfectly.
Yeah the concept is awesome. Unfortunatly the product isn't.
Even if you get no errors (driver wise), the game just can't handle +20-30 min games.
IMO the whole point of a planetary RTS is to flood the screen with units, blow big nukes, etc.
If the game engine can't handle a large battle well the original concept gets hurt pretty badly.
In other words, even if you buy this game know that it will let you down.
It's embarassing how they can't even make tournaments cause whenever the match reaches 20-30 the players can't continue resulting in a tie...

Make sure you report all problems to the developers, things don't solve themselves :)

Sadly, it just renews my confidence in Steam. I like GOG, but I hate manual game management which is why I liked Desura's client.
I just hope GOG Galaxy for us isn't far off.

Quoting: BillNyeTheBlackGuyWrong, it can happen for many reasons. There's no such thing as "click button to support Linux". Plenty of developers using Unity have problems supporting Linux due to things like middleware.Too often we have seen developers claim they will support Linux, only to leave us waiting as they didn't check before-hand. Let's hope Koji Igarashi doesn't let us down. The game uses Unreal 4, which has native Linux support now. This scenario only happens when the developers use a custom engine (like Divinity) or an crappyEngine that doesn't support Linux (Banner Saga).,
