Massive Planetary Annihilation Update, Galactic War Now Far Better

It's nothing like Starcraft.

Quoting: ElectricPrismWe tried PA a while ago and were somewhat disappointed. The camera stuck in a weird way and everything was so zoomed out it felt kindof boring. I was hoping it would be something like StarCraft BroodWar but I'm not sure what it was like.Everything was zoomed out? You can zoom in and out at will with a simple mouse scroller...
Maybe after a long while it'll be fun but the problem is that I now have a preconceived idea that it sucks based on experience :(
It's nothing like Starcraft.

Quoting: SamsaiMy opinion is that your purchase should be a reward for the developer. That way they will get no money before it's out, which encourages them to work faster and actually create a better product. If we all went and bought the games immediately the only incentive for them to release the port is to keep their reputation up. It also has the potential of screwing up various statistics related to Linux purchases and can in some cases lead to the porting house not getting paid if the port is being done by a third party. This plus a million, I wish people would stop fecking buying games that aren't out for Linux yet.
I'm just saying there is literally no positive to buying before it's out. Even if it's someone you trust. Buy into products, not promises.

I still think it's a fad that will fade with time, I don't want to strap a bloody device to my face. I'm not bothered personally.

Neither really, it has elements of comedy, it's a lot slower paced too. It's much more sandbox, but with story elements too.

I was going to say that's probably them being optimistic, but they probably have a lot of inside confirmations from demoing their device to developers. So, I shall remain optimistic on this one.

Quoting: PeciskLet's stop act like traumatized kids everytime there's delay or something. There can be genue hold ups during development and it wouldn't make sense to hold up Windows version Dota 2 Reborn just because Source 2 OpenGL port have release blocker issues. No one is acting like "traumatized kids", and I'm really not sure what in my article or in the comments here has even remotely hinted at that.
Just keep us in loop and be sure to ping devs now and then for updates. Let's be cool guys.

It's nothing to do with that, they just haven't finished the OpenGL system yet, as quoted. Vulkan isn't even finalised or announced as released yet, that and it's not even in any graphics drivers.
