Paranautical Activity Cancels Co-Op And Draws More Ire For Early Access

There is no reason to get rid of Early Access that's going overboard, there's a lot to like about it.

Like with everything, you have good apples and bad apples. In this case it's somewhere in-between.

No matter what you do, there will always be bad points.

Another Star, The Very Authentic Retro RPG Is Now Released For Linux Gamers

That's a shame, I will have to wait until I upgrade then (Linux Mint 16).

Killing Floor 2 FPS Announced With SteamOS Linux Support Right In

It's always the same problem with using outside porters regardless of how good they are. As soon as a company stops paying them they stop fixing issues.

I imagine Tripwire has been too busy with their later games to worry about a few issues that not everyone gets on Linux.

Broken Rules Are Considering Open Sourcing Their Game Engine

For it to be useful in my opinion is to have something like an official fully open github repo for it, where people can put up issues, submit code and more. Then it would be useful.
Uh, if it is not proprietary (as in GPL for instance), you, or I, or anyone can put up a fully open github repo.
That's part of my point, the problem is if a lot of people do it, how do any developers interested in using it pick one? An official one from Broken Rules that others can fork and submit code to in my opinion would be better.

New Unreal Tournament Announced, Linux Support Is A Go & Will Be Free

No it's not open source as pointed out, if something is open source I always mention it. Whenever I say free I am talking cost.

Also post updated to include the official tweet on it.

Mark of the Old Ones, A Metroidvania Physics Platformer Needs One Small Push

Let's not make this a back and forth about the C4 engine guys, if you wish to carry that on I suggest a forum post ;)

Mark of the Old Ones, A Metroidvania Physics Platformer Needs One Small Push
6 May 2014 at 6:20 pm UTC

Quoting: migiziIt looks pretty interesting. It's kind of hard, for me personally, to back the project. I want to support anyone offering Linux support but on the other hand I don't really want to help anyone using the C4 engine.
Interesting never heard anything bad of C4 engine, what's your beef with it?

Desura Announce A New Embeddable Widget, Accounts No Longer Needed To Buy Games
6 May 2014 at 2:13 pm UTC

Quoting: DaVinceThe only thing I'm worried about is that there's no links in the widget to the actual game page on Desura. So you have to do a manual search if you really want to know anything more about the game.
Yeah, that also bugged me a little bit, but it's meant for the developer site directly, so all the info you need is supposed to be on the page it's in.

Torque 2D Game Engine Offers Full Linux Support In New Update

Quoting: liamdaweThe latest id engine is probably capable of supporting Linux, but they chose not to port Rage as Carmack claimed Linux doesn't sell.

Trouble is they never actually sold Linux versions just offered them as a download, so he was talking out of his ass.
I hope that is a joke because I know that you are a founder of this website.

I remember that three games created by id software were published as box versions:

Quake: The Offering
Quake II: Colossus
Quake III Arena
It's called an oversight, me being the founder of GOL doesn't mean anything.

Besides the Quake 3 games where released for Linux and sold in 1999, you really trust a company who uses sales from 1999 to justify stuff?

Quake Live is also an old title revamped into the browser, so again not a good way to judge Linux interest.
