All my Windows friends have got bored and stopped playing at this stage. The trouble with later Linux releases is that they arrive after the marketing and the hype. It doesn't have the same exposure as the windows release date and as such will likely see lower sales figures than if it was an earlier release, possibly discouraging further development on the Linux platform.
It's less of an issue with single player games, because the late release doesn't necessarily affect the quality of the game but with multiplayer games, if no-ones playing, you're stuck. And nowadays multiplayer games seem to have a lifespan of about a week.

I'm hoping that the poor folks who pre-ordered are going to be able to claim a refund under the new policy.
That being said, I wonder what has more of a consumer impact, purchasing a game and getting it refunded or not purchasing it at all.

Quoting: gojulAnd I do not use multiboot anymore on my new PC as it is too hard to maintain, and I'm too lazy to reboot my PC.I must admit, I'm a hair's breadth away from doing that myself. It's only one or two game franchises that are keeping it there.
