On my system with Archlinux + GNOME, if you are playing with the controller the screen doesn't go blank. If you don't touch the controller, a lengthy cut-scene as you say, the screen goes blank and you have to touch the mouse or keyboard (the controller don't work¿?). I have my power saving config to go blank after 5 min of inactivity so it's not a problem anymore for me.

And that applies on steam, emulators etc.

Recently I just bought a Razer Wolverine V2 and... steam doesn't detect it as xbox gamepad and the games such Hollow Knight doesn't works well, the triggers aren't "precise"...

And now this new steam controller... and it's beautiful... I hope it's true. I will buy it and ditch the Razer one :)

And you can play it with other mods like SIGIL. Just tested it and works. Run:

 
flatpak run org.zdoom.GZDoom -iwad doom.wad -file PATH_TO_VOXEL_MOD/voxel_parallax_doomII.pk3 PATH_TO_SIGIL/SIGIL_II_V1_0.WAD

I think Solus 4 uses the same theme/icon set. (Yes, it’s very dark, takes a bit of time to adjust)

I answered over there (as Zyro). I think playing around with kernel (downgrade?) or mesa version (upgrade?) should be able to solve it.

Did you try from terminal? I was shown a library missing, some libibus or something.

I have libibus instaled, no errors from the terminal. An error logged on dmesg:

On the steam forums someone says that maybe is for an unsuported cpu. It seems strange to me, I have a Ryzen 1800X, a little old but that old? I will dig a little more. I want to play it, enjoyed the first and second, but possibly will be in the future when I change my pc.
