Trine Enchanted Edition For Linux Released
11 Dec 2014 at 7:36 pm UTC

I've been really enjoying the Trine games from the start, including the original Linux version from the Humble Bundle. This enhanced version looks great, so many thanks Frozenbyte for all the effort and continued Linux support. ^_^

Thank you Feral! It runs just fine on a HD5770, and so far no issues. I never had it running very stable in Windows back in those days, so this is just great. I bought a copy for a friend to make sure you get some due payment.

This is a GOOD day for Linux gaming! The first Total War, and may there be many more. A big thank you to Feral Interactive.

Looks like nice atmosphere built from those visuals. If it's got influence from the Oddworld gameplay, I'm in. I'd imagine a good mix of puzzle and action then.

Feral's Game Port Radar Updated For Linux

I hope it's Empire: Total War next - this is the most addictive and epic strategy game I've ever played, and I would happily sink many more hours into it under Linux. The game is still hugely popular if you look at the steam charts.

BioShock Infinite Looks Set For A Linux Release (CONFIRMED)

Quoting: DaverballThe thing that really worries me is that linux and windows depots are shared apart from the executables, whereas the Mac port had separate depots altogether. Both Feral and Aspyr use completely separate depots because for one you can optimize your assets into a format that's better suited for the target platform and for two they can't always release patches on all platforms at once, since they're not working on the original windows build and binaries might not be the only thing that were changed in a patch.
I totally agree that this current steamdb status is very strange. There have not been any Linux games that I've seen so far that simply share the Windows Depots, not even Witcher 2 and Stronghold 3 which are VP ports with eON. Anyway, awesome news that it's coming to Linux, and I guess we'll see in time if it's a true native port. Other games from 2K have all been native though.

It doesn't make sense for a company other than Aspyr to do the Linux port, if they already did the MAC port in the past. It would just be a whole lot of rework converting from DirectX etc.
