FTL: Faster Than Light now has Steam Achievements over seven years after release

Quoting: appetrosyanQuestion: why do people care about achievements?
The usual reasons: bragging rights and/or posterity. Me, I like picking a couple to try for when I've got a new game. I've never been a completionist; I hate that kind of thing, it breeds obsession.

Guess its why I'm an old-school Nintendo/Sega fan (Yes, both). None of that to worry about.

Aye, Hey di lee High! Other than the perfection that is Stardew Valley, that is.

Quoting: WorMzyYeah, there's no need for all that.
Aka "I'm fine with it, therefore it is perfect".
Very convincing.

Quoting: WorMzyAdding mouse-driven menus and buttons would just slow things down and add nothing to the game. :|
You heard it here first, folks:
Making your game more smooth and comfortable to play, or playable for some to begin with, adds nothing to your game.

You should go ahead and spread the word.
I think most developers (probably all of them except this one) still believe having a proper User Interface and making their game accessible without sacrificing anything is actually something important.
Just think about the resources wasted developing UIs for games like these in the past 40 years! If only we had known earlier...

I cannot wait for the mod that finally removes all those annoying menus and buttons from Cities: Skylines or RimWorld so that I can enjoy the experience without all that clutter!
Guys, you've gotta chill out. TheSheep, if you don't like the controls, Dfhack has plugins that improve the UI a great deal. Also if you want to remove the menus, just hit TAB twice. What do ya expect from two a game designed by two Math Phds? If you'd like, here's the link [External Link] to the latest Linux version of the Lazy Newb pack, which is what I use myself.

Wormzy, he's entitled to his opinion and as my Psychology teacher used to say in high school "Opinions are like rear-ends, everyone's got one, and no one wants to hear about anyone elses.".

There's never a need to get mad at anyone over a video game. We're all friends here.:)

Seven years later Kentucky Route Zero is finally complete with the release of Act V

Finally playing it myself, because I didn't want to play it unfinished. Being a Kentuckian, I know quite a bit about the roadways in the game. Also the bluegrass gospel band in act I scene II is pretty good! Yes I'm a bit stereotypical in that I love bluegrass. It really is the greatest speech to the soul, in my opinion.

Don't spoil anything for me an' Ol' Blue now. She don't like spoilers. :D

Shadow & The Blade DLC for Total War: WARHAMMER II is out now for Linux, plus a big new patch

Man, when they said "Potion of Speed" update they really meant it! Mortal Empires takes less than half the time between turns! It's positively zippy for me with my ASUS x570-p/AMD 3600x/Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB build.¹

Can't comment on the DLC yet, as I haven't played both Malus and Snikch, but I did start a game with the FreeLC LL Repanse (My favorite Brettonian character, by the way.) and I like the challenge being in the desert brings.

¹ To anyone wondering: when I bought new parts in July (My FX 8350 crapped out on me), a new GPU wasn't in the budget quite yet. The one I have is more than enough for my library at 1080p, and I bought a nice 144hz monitor over Christmas. Moore's law bit the dust years ago, people.

In AI Dungeon 2 the game is created as you play and it can be both impressive and ridiculous

Looks neat! I've downloaded it and I'll seed for a few days at least to help out. My upload speed isn't great, but I'm always glad to lend help to anyone in need of it. I'm gonna give the game a go once it's back up.

After making Crusader Kings II free, Paradox are now giving away The Old Gods expansion

Quoting: eldakingWell, I already bought it (and the base game) three times, all through Humble Bundles, so not directly affected.

There are supposedly also in-game challenges to unlock cosmetics for CK3, but I wasn't able to find those when I opened the game (not that I looked very hard, I had a game ongoing already).
Well According to the 3.30 changelog (via Changelog.txt in the game's directory):

Spoiler, click me

- Monarch's Journey is available to all non-Linux players. This is a feature which will bi-weekly present new characters to play with a scenario of challenges to earn cosmetic rewards for the upcoming Crusader Kings III game.

Emphasis mine, I hope this doesn't mean we won't see CK3. I have 657 hours in CK2; it's my most played game on Steam!
Here's what Paradox told me about that little feature not being on Linux:

The technology we're using in the background to make this possible unfortunately doesn't have support for the Linux platform.
Sigh, another stupid middleware! I hate it when crap like that happens.
