Quoting: legluondunetYou can install all Android games with Waydroid? It's an Android emulator?
Actually no, it allows you to run Android apps on your native kernel. All you need is a Wayland compositor and an Android image of your choice. It's not a compatibility layer, either. It uses Linux namespaces to run Android apps in a container, without being a full VM.

The official docs [External Link] are a good place to start. The ArchWiki [External Link] has a decent write-up too.

Quoting: suchThe fact that NWN2 is listed on GOG, but no one bothered to fix it for Steam if it was causing some issues there (as I think I've heard ages ago) is... odd. Especially since it seems that it does function. Surely, it's better for a game to earn something than nothing at all?

...right?
NWN2 was removed from Steam ages ago, so that is likely why. There is a thread requesting it be returned, but there of course is always some dick that has to say 'why bother, it sucked' I still think Obsidian sucked for not making a native Linux version back when it was released.
It was a lot better than NWN1, as far as I'm concerned. The artwork doesn't look phoned in, for one thing. For another, 3.5E fixed almost every gripe I ever had with 3E.
Ha, the closest I have gotten to play either of those were Neverwinter Nights 1 and a little bit of 2. Then I played one session of actual D&D 3e (where my friend's brother in law pissed me off by 'grabbing and picking up' my character... even though he was a dwarf with a 9 dex and I was a halfling with 19 dex...

Then I have played a decently long game of Pathfinder 1st edition, which I've been told is more like a D&D 3.7 or so edition... They fixed the things that 3.5 didn't fix, or something. Still haven't had the patience to keep playing Wrath of the Righteous or Kingmaker, as I'm wanting a game to use PF2e... :P
Ah, D&D! Played lots of 1st edition back in the day, and a bit more during Covid for nostalgia. And played a bit of 5th, which surprised me with how similar it really was. And I had some fun doing that, don't get me wrong. But . . .

GURPS is better.
Oh no, I'm not getting into that argument!

I once had that argument for a week straight with eight other people proselytizing their favorite systems. We never reached a consensus.

But yes, Pathfinder 1E was basically the saving grace of any 3-3.5E era D&D player who was unhappy with D&D 4E (Broken Base [External Link] is not even the right word!).

Suffering succotash, folks! Put the knives away! You're arguing a moot point!

As a man who looks in the mirror and notices less hair than ten years ago, I don't particularly care about some game that seems like Second Life for kids and if it supports my preferred OS and/or kernel or not. Particularly since it's in the news every few weeks for being a scam disguised as a game or a hive of predators. Deserved or not, again, much like Second Life. I don't know enough about it to have an opinion.

All I know is that my kids, should I be blessed enough to have them, will touch Roblox over my moldy-rotten-festering corpse.

Might I suggest Toontown Rewritten [External Link] as an alternative MMO for young'ins? It even has a flatpak (doesn't use flathub) for its launcher [External Link] and just introduced controller support. It even got former Toontown Online design director Jesse Schell's approval.

I hate making generalizations, but most of those who cry about games not being updated daily/weekly tend to be of the generation that never grew up in an era before the internet was popular. The concept of a "finished" game apparently computes to "dead" in the minds of anyone under 30-35.

Explaining that patches didn't exist in an easy-to-obtain format back then is like trying to teach calculus to a neanderthal.

Never let a modern kid handle an 8/16-bit computer of any sort if you like your CRT. I found that out the hard way.

What's worse, children under ~10 expect every screen to be a touch screen. I still remember being shown one when they were a novelty in '94 and thinking "Who would use this when buttons and a keyboard are so convenient?" I still hate touch interfaces 30 years later.

Script compiler is now open source and available as a standalone tool at https://github.com/niv/neverwinter.nim [External Link].
Wow, what is with patch notes burying the lead lately?

There have been at least three attempts to create an open-source implementation of NWScript (basically NWN 1/2-specific C) and Toolkit replacement over the years.

Now all we need is for them to find the source code for NWN2, so we can finally have an Enhanced Edition of my favorite D&D game. Not the least of reasons for which is that NWN2 uses 3.5e instead of 3e.

That, or wait 20 years for xoreos [External Link] to be ready.

I swear, if I were any good at C++, I'd help Dr McCoy and the rest out. But every time I look at C/C++ tutorials, I'm reminded of why I barely managed a B- in College Algebra my senior year of high school.

Quoting: legluondunet"Yakuza Complete Series" only with english subtitles...
They only ever had subtitles, except the original (non-Kiwami) version of Yakuza 1 on the PS2. Trust me, it was terrible.

But the newer games, since Yakuza: Like a Dragon (ie: Ryu Ga Gotoku 7) have English dialogue.

Y'know, they could have warned us about

Viconia and Serevok
being handled in the worst way possible.

Not to mention that they went with the novelization/Murder in Baldur's Gate version of Gorion's Ward, Abdel Adrian, who has about as much interesting stuff going on as a block of wood. Seriously, out of all the FR novels I've read, Philip Athans and Drew Karpyshyn (who I'm usually a big fan of) managed to ruin the three about the best 2½ CRPGs in the FR franchise.

Even if they couldn't import a save, they could have given us a Q&A about what happened in our BG1-through-ToB run such as in Mass Effect 2, The Witcher 3, Wizardry 8, and other story-based C/A/J RPGs going back 40 years!

Quoting: redneckdrowRight now, I'm playing my third playthrough of the Mass Effect games (first was the original release on PC years ago, then on PS3), since the Legendary edition was 6 bucks during the winter sale.
Ha, I still haven't played this... I have been told it's a requirement that I do, but damned if I can get into many games these days. My attention span seems to be much more akin to playing Atari 2600 games vs any of the ones that take many hours to play through.
Since I don't wanna derail a thread with an off-topic game, I've spoilered my reply.

Spoiler, click me

The TV Tropes [External Link] franchise page has a good rundown that should help you decide. I highly recommend the Legendary version, as it has major QoL improvements for the first game.

If you ever do, just ignore the endings in the third game (besides getting the best versions of each by saving beforehand). They come out of left-field.

With a guide (read: the sane option), I'd say it takes around ~30 to ~35 hours per game the first time. I recommend the IGN guide and the Mass Effect Wiki. Without one, they take ~80 hours each if you don't wanna miss anything. Also, money is finite in the second and third games, making thrift a matter of survival.

If you even have a passing interest in narrative RPGs, albeit with shooter mechanics, Mass Effect as a series, has one of the best narratives ever.

It should be noted, the physical release of the first game had a version of SecuROM so draconian, it's infamous. The Origin/Steam and Legendary versions never had this, they only use Origin/EA App authentication. Nevertheless, I tell people about it because people need to be informed about past skulduggery.
