The Humble Devolver Bundle has a few decent Linux games for cheap

Quoting: abelthorneShadow Warrior was already in a Humble Bundle long ago. Is that Special Edition the same one?

EDIT: from what I see on the Steam store page, it seems to be a different one. The SE includes new weapons, an artbook and the soundtrack, right?
According to Steam, I bought Shadow Warrior ~1 year ago and I am pretty sure it was from Humble. My Steam copy has the artbook, soundtrack, and weapons, so it would seem that it is the exact same version they sold us last time, just with creative marketing :P
I will be holding out to see what games are added next week before I pull the trigger on this one.

Was Dwarf Fortress actually nominated for anything? I keep seeing it mentioned in posts about open source games, but Dwarf Fortress is proprietary.
Also in Most Anticipated, were all those games actually announced for Linux or is that just speculation and a lot of wishful thinking?
I am surprised D: OS got all the votes it did after the hate in the comments every time they delayed it :D

Don't Be Patchman Is The First Game On Steam To Be Linux Only

Quoting: JarnoNot going to buy it if they release only linux version.
All "only on X" and "exclusively" titles are pure cancer.
Buying customers are only ones who looses.
Ppl who buy those cancers are ones who makes clear message that it's okay, but they are pissing on their own cereals by saying that. Usually those ones are too stupid to understand and buys all consoles+PC or just go to internet and "tell" ppl about those "PC master race" e.g. things.

What you guys would think if, lets say Warnerbros, film a movie and you can watch it only on e.g. Sony dvd/bluray player?
Would you go and buy Sony dvd/blueray player?
That is a terrible analogy and couldn't be further from what is happening. Linux is a completely free platform for anyone to use. It isn't a brand or merchandise peddled by some unethical salesman. Nothing is preventing anyone from playing this; anyone can install Linux via dualboot or virtual machine and play this game. No one has to buy anything, no one loses anything by installing Linux.

Read the article next time before posting. The first sentence of the article says the exclusivity is temporary. The game isn't an exclusive at all, only the first build is. On the steam store page they say the game will be on OSX/Windows within a month.

Looks Like Shadow Of Mordor Won't Support AMD Graphics On Linux At Release

Quoting: MaelraneWhich drivers do you use? I had nothing but trouble with the proprietary drivers from AMD but the open source ones worked great for about 9 out of 10 games in my collection.
Tried the open source ones at first and they were great, but newer games wouldn't even get past 15 fps on low graphics settings. Switched to proprietary ones and games ran ok, but not as well as they should have. The proprietary drivers seem a bit buggier than the open source ones too. Got Windows 10 on that machine now (and hate it), but maybe I will give the open source drivers another go.

Quoting: Mountain ManSo terrible Linux support but open source versus excellent Linux support but closed source.

It's really a no brainer to me, but then I'm not one of those "Rar! GNU Linux! All hail Richard Stallman!" types, either.
I think proprietary tech is just awful for PC gaming in the long run and it is very shortsighted to give money to people pushing it. Like I said though, open source means more than a small difference in performance, but not enough to justify buying more AMD crap.
If I had the money to buy a nice new GPU today, it would for sure be an Nvidia card; it's a no-brainer.

I have a AMD card. I was proud to support AMD, because they tend be much friendlier towards open source while everything Nvidia does is proprietary. That was more important to me than a small difference in performance. But it isn't a "small difference", AMD support on Linux is dismal. Games run better on my laptop with a Nvidia card half as powerful.

I think it is worth giving AMD until November to get things running nice on steamOS, before I turn to a proprietary (but actually working) competitor, but somehow I doubt that anything will change.

Guess The Next Linux Port From Feral Interactive, And Win A Copy

I want to guess Rome 2, maybe Bioshock 2 or Grid 2, but I already own all those. (I only switched to Linux recently, I'm sorry.)

Since I love getting games for free, I think I will guess one I don't already own: Tomb Raider.
