I know they are not developing any more, but they still face an uphill battle with convincing players, with the distasteful stain of gollum on their reputation and the steady stench of big ben interactive looming over them.

...That will go down well, I'm sure.

Linux Mint 22.2 Beta available for the next long-term supported release

One of the options in the hamburger menu of the software manager is to display installed applications. Furthermore, one can also view said list with the included backup tools which, by the way, by default do not do anything unless one tells them to.
Running mint xfce 21.3. Things may have changed in the new beta, but I doubt it.

As Stella's comment on inability to view which apps are installed in the application manager . . . that's probably trueJust checked on my install to see whether I was misremembering: it ain't true.

openSUSE Leap 16.0 will need Steam gamers to install some extras due to no 32-bit

No one expects an enterprise product to support gaming and, despite that, leap users can still game. I see nothing here that warrants the comparison.

We all saw what happened with Fedora when a proposal was put to drop 32-bit didn't we? Sounds like another messy situation. I wonder how much backlash this will end up causing for the openSUSE Leap developers.Um, leap is based on enterprise, with the latter removing support and the leap developers spending effort to give their users the option of getting it back fairly easily.

> Also, wtf Atari, how are they coming up with all this cash?
Who pays with cash nowadays? As with most acquisitions, the likely walked to a bank and got them to fund it.

Another game, another silly eula from entitled devs; they don't want people modding this game.
This genre is poisoned far too much for me to put up with this.

Nexus Mods to get Age Verification in UK / EU for adult content, plus a new cross-platform app upgrade

From what I gather, your German digital id is required to function EU-wide starting at the end of 2026. Until then, age verifications are going to be handled by a (compatible) digital attestation system if needed.

It seems quite solid: minimal id information for the service provider and no way for an attestation provider to track which sites you are showing the attestation to.

I hope they enable age verification with the German government ID card. It allows you to prove you're above 18 without revealing your age or any other personal details.EU regulations are likely to require compliant verification methods --so: yes.

Fedora proposal to drop 32-bit support has been withdrawn

If the proposal is to drop 32bit, then it breaks everything 32bit. As this happens to include major parts of the "gaming use case", this proposal would break said case.

I am disappointed in some of the reactions this :double_exclamation_mark: proposal :double_exclamation_mark: has received, with some people apparently reading it in the most uncharitable way. It was a proposal that tried to address technical problems package maintainers and release engineering is facing, not some conspiracy to break the “gaming use case”.Um, how charitable can one, as a user of 32bit software, read: "Drop 32-bit multilib support on x86_64 and stop building packages for i686"?

Again, this is why telemetry is useful, it can show developers where they need to actually focus, it's not the bad word many seem to think it is.Ugh. Telemetry driven development is the bane of my computing life. It insidiously causes some devs to use it as a substitute for actual thinking instead of as a support.
