The developer of Gloomhaven wants to see what kind of demand there is for Linux support

Just wanted to point out I bought this game the moment it became available early access, and I couldnt get it to run via Proton, after about a half hour of fiddling I gave up.
At least native would have given me another option to try

Quoting: liamdawe...I agree with Liam
Steam Play? There's been games others have tested, that I can't get to run at all. Again, that argument can be switched around any time based on GPU, driver, distribution and many other random factors. Just the same as I've seen games people on Windows can't run, yet work without issues for me on Linux. People will always have issues, regardless of the method, it's not a great argument either way.

I just came here to comment that this game is one of the best games I have ever played, and I'm 35 years old and been playing since BBC micro era (ie original elite, then 286 and onwards).
It is hugely RNG which goes against the idea of user ability to affect outcomes, but its just too damn satisfying when you do win.
I originally hated it also, but then invested time in it, unlocked every ship on hard and every variant (including the crazy hard to get crystal ship). over 600hrs gameplay, cant believe there are others like me on here with more hours in this than things like path of exile!
I even thanked the developer

I made the mistake of playing the openxcom port on my android, this game is MADE for android.
The touch controls are so intuitive.
anyway, suffice to say my toilet breaks at work were upwards of 20 min blocks lol.

this game came out in 97, and the only reason I bought it was because it was made in Australia.
It was very ordinary indeed, but yes I still have fond memories of it.
Dark reign 2 was a whole lot better. :)

This is one of the reasons I love this website, I consider myself fairly tech savvy, but I am extremely lazy - ive replaced 4 2/3TB drives out of my NAS over the last 5 years, never had issues with WD before this.
I knew that green drives had an issue with spin down etc but decided I could ignore it. Eventually replaced them with red's. Very good to know the reason why now.
