Thanks for hosting these! Purchased the game and tried out the Ark server last night. Damn raptors kept finding me and tearing me to pieces, but it was well worth it. Unfortunately my ping over here in the states is too high to play Ballistic Overkill on the GOL server.

Is the weird ground texture issue in Ark effecting anyone else? It's the only texture that looks just terrible.

Ah man, wish you guys played later into the night. I'll still be at work over here in the states.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive update release, new group lobbies feature and crates

Quoting: BlodofferThis games has numerous memory leaks, although supposedly they are now fixed. Try disabling AA. How much RAM do you have?

Thanks, I'll give that a try after work today. I have 16GB RAM, an i5 3570K (I think that's right), a 660ti, and have tried installing it on both my SSD and regular HDD with the same results. I have several other Source games that run like champs (Insurgency, TF2, L4D2, etc.) and about 300 other Linux Steam games and this is the only one that has always troubled me.

This is the one game that has consistently crashed for me since Steam for Linux was released. I've tried it on four different (but all Ubuntu-based) distros and numerous different nVidia drivers. Always has some micro stutters then crashes after playing for 45-90 minutes. Googled the hell out of this issue, but can't seem to find a fix. So now I only play deathmatch and that's pretty boring.

^I second the toxic community sentiment, @buenaventura. Had to disable voice chat to stay sane.

Survival game Rust adds female player models, assigns gender to Steam accounts at random

In many (most?) games you don't have a choice which gender you are, you just usually default to a male. I think this approach is brilliant.

Lucky you... I have sent them a request before 2 hours and still nothing.. :(
It's probably because I sent my request in almost a week ago, so they had time to process it. Hopefully you get your key soon.

Edit: Finished downloading and playing the game now. There's a spiffy new intro cinematic and I haven't noticed any missing voice acting like before, so that's good, otherwise it's exactly the same so far. They said they added a whole bunch more quests and fixed broken quests from before, but I won't know whether that's true until at least a few hours in. Here's hoping as before there were entire large areas with essentially nothing to do, like areas were made but they ran out of time to actually make things (quests, etc) to do in those areas. Hopefully those areas are now populated with people to talk to and quests to take.

As an aside, I hope they didn't fix females in the game peeing while standing up, that was hilarious, I'll miss it if it's gone.

So is it worth checking out? It still sounds like a bad game overall...
Looks like there are some sketchy reviews listed on Steam, which makes me hesitant to go anywhere near it.

I'm only seeing two servers and those are empty with a very high ping. I want this game to be more popular!

Me too. What a mess that game is. So much potential and it's just not fun and the game play is clunky as hell.

Speculation: Shadow Of Mordor Appears In A Seemingly Linux Focused App Bundle On SteamDB

Are you sure? It's also the same icon they use on Windows now, I saw my friend on his laptop just yesterday and the icon on his Windows 7 bar was exactly the same. Haven't actually checked into SteamOS to see for myself.

I wouldn't say I'm sure...but in SteamOS, I *think* that's the icon that indicates it's a game that works in SteamOS. When I fire up Big Picture mode on my Linux drive, that icon is replaced by the penguin. Maybe I should double check when I'm home so I don't seem like a total jackass if I'm wrong.

EDIT: I am, in fact, a jackass.

Quoting: abelthorneWell, Steam Big Picture has been out way before SteamOS so I'm not sure the games in the screenshots are really chosen in relation to the OS.

But I don't see which screenshot you're talking about with Payday 2 so I'm not really sure what to think. ;)

EDIT: oh, never mind, Privacy Badger was hiding the picture in the post, now I see it. Anyway, I'm not really much convinced as Overkill hasn't been very Linux-friendly. Would love to see Payday 2 on Linux, of course.
