A deserved success and I hope this will continue.

Wine 8.2 rolls out along with a new Proton Experimental update

Quoting: dziadulewiczNowadays i don't know should i install this normal Wine, or should i use Lutris? But, when i tried Lutris: there is no "normal Wine" available to choose from at all but all kinds of customised or "unofficial" Wines.

There is no flatpak or a snap for Wine either (if there was, users could run Wine happily in a sandbox without any fear?)
Once you installed wine vanilla or wine-staging packages from your official distribution package manager, they are available in Lutris too.
With latest version, Proton installed by Steam are available in Lutris too.
And you can still install others wine version, vanilla, staging, proton-ge etc...for Lutris/Bottles/Steam with ProtonUp.

ScummVM 2.7.0 is ready for testing more retro games

"new shaders to emulate CRT displays"

Very nice new feature! Like the good old days! Our old games are far more beautiful with crt shaders.

I compiled and tested recent scummvm git version and I found some bugs when I activate opengl gui rendering:
scummvm window use a resolution superior to my current screen resolution, I think about a dpi scaling issue, button and font are so little you can no more see them.
More than words:

Someone has the same issue?

Ubisoft just broke their games on Linux desktop and Steam Deck

Someone can explain technically what cause this error after Ubisoft Connect update?
I saw different causes on internet, all very differents (change MTU, font problem...).
I just tested again, I can reproduce the bug with Proton GE 7.48 on Lutris.
But if I set to Lutris Wine 7.2-2 (Lutris default wine version) it works.

Proton's changelogs are very impressive, Valve devs don't have to sleep much.

Quoting: legluondunetFYI, on Lutris, Ubisoft Connect still functional, even after update.
Not for me.
Do you use default Lutris Wine version 7.2-2?

I just compiled it and play a little with it, it's very nice.
Habitually I prefer to play retro games in their native ratio, here 4:3.
But I tried 16:9 feature for Zelda 3 and I have to say it looks good, it's not shocking.
Adding a Shader like crt-royale and it's not far from perfect.

Quoting: RustyConsidering all of the code is reverse-engineered and all the assets are extracted from a ROM, there's not really much Nintendo can do here. The case law isn't on their side. This is why we have projects like sm64pc and Ship of Harkinian.
If only you could be right, remember Rockstar GTA 3 and Re3 github project...
