What makes game "a major title"? RS has reaches 100k simultaneous players and probably many times that active players. At the moment Twitch says that there are 12k viewers watching Runescape streams, contrast that with 10k watching WoW. Yeah, I know that arguments that can be made that it's still not a major title.. However, I'd say it's much bigger than many people realize.

90% of those streams are Oldschool Runescape. Not Runescape 3 as this article is about.

It's disgusting. You can even buy yourself all the way to max level without playing the game at all. And a ton of people is doing that. Its just toxic and has nothing to do with enjoyment at all.(unless you enjoy spending tons of real money for stuff that makes you not have to do anything and make the gameplay feel more worthless). Even know you can't win runescape. The game indeed has one of the worst pay 2 win models you can find. It's so sad because it was really a great game before the solomon store and treasure hunter ruined the game..

If you really like the mechanics of the game and don't mind graphics i can't recommend Oldschool Rs enough. Its the last bit og remaining common sense we will probaly ever see from jagex.

It runs like poop on every platform. My brother gets 20-30 fps at max with a i7 4770k and gtx 460 on windows 7, all settings on low.
On linux i got up to around 35-40 fps with medium settings on a fx 6300 with gtx 650.
Unity engine is not meant for survival first person shooters that's for sure.

Garry dosen't know anything about linux. He even blames the whole linux desktop for not being ready based on he's failed attempt to install Ubuntu 12.04 back a few years ago. He is just a noob developer who made a crappy game with unity engine. He is in no position to judge with he's lack of skills.

I don't see it being an issue? Why the heck would you ignore a game because they work on giving you additional content that is completely optional?

Because you don't get the full game. they strip the game on purpose and release the parts as "dlc's". if you want all the content in the game you have to pay over 90 euro for it. The game has very few features and is not that fun at all.

Well good thing we have dota 2 then, far more polished and all heroes are free.
As for ragequitting, that is only in nonranked matches, in ranked you get penalty.
its just like in cs go you get to play with all the jerks until you rank up, then things get more serious

Unity engine?! ill skip this one then.
I have 3 unity games and not a single one can run with decent fps even know my specs are more than enough. You would think that they would atleast use a prober engine like Unreal but Noooooo..
