could you tell us which graphics-api was used in your windows benchmark? Was it also Vulkan? Or DirectX 11/12? Thank you for the review.

Black Mesa, the fan-made remake of Half-Life is rather unstable on Linux right now
9 Nov 2016 at 5:44 pm UTC

I played through Black Mesa last weekend. Ubuntu 16.04, GTX 970 with proprietary drivers. I also had the crashes in the test chamber and in a later level where you have to explode a standing helicopter. I saved and loaded my way through the test chamber and shoved some corpses away from the helicopter to get through those. They announced this as a Linux Beta so I was not angry about it. But besides from these two things everything else was ultra smooth and well done. No crashes, hiccups whatsoever. So I would not call this game unstable. Just be aware that there are these bugs in the beta.

In the video game The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion there is a quest titled "A Shadow over Hackdirt" which follows a similar plot to Lovecraft's story. Bethesda distributed this game as well as Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

Several video games are based on or influenced heavily by Lovecraft such as Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness, Shadow of the Comet, Prisoner of Ice, Shadowman, Alone in the Dark, Chzo Mythos, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Cthulhu Saves the World, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Dead Space, Splatterhouse, Darkness Within: In Pursuit of Loath Nolder, Darkness Within 2: The Dark Lineage, Penumbra, Blood (according to Nick Newhard, its designer), the megami tensei franchise and Quake. The MMORPG The Secret World is heavily based on Lovecraftian lore. In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Dragonborn, the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora and his realm of Oblivion, Apocrypha, are both heavily influenced by Lovecraft.

Memento [External Link] is my all time favourite Thriller. It simply blows your mind. It's about a man who has no long term memory, trying to remember recent events, helping himself with polaroid photos and notes.
