The latest Steam Client Beta adds native support for the PS4 Dual Shock Controller
1 Nov 2016 at 11:51 am UTC

Well, if I recall correctly it is still not a XInput device which would be potentially problematic with some games. Microsoft recently released Xbox One S controller which support Bluetooth and XInput. Eventhough personally I prefer traditional DualShock design, I desire no config hurdles. So, next time I will get a new controller I am likely to go for Xbox One S controller.

Black Mesa, the very popular fan-made recreation of Half-Life is now on Linux in beta
28 Oct 2016 at 10:57 pm UTC

Quoting: melkemindSo, just to be clear, you're saying Half Life 3 confirmed? :)
No, not at all. Do not get the wrong idea; at least in no less than 5 years time. :-) Black Mesa is in development for a long time; it was a free (of charge) Half-Life 2/Source Engine mod. However, it lacked the last Half-Life chapter Xen, and in still does. So, forums are full of jokes about missing Xen chapter for Black Mesa; even HL3 would be released earlier... :-P Well, Freeman's Mind is completed, The Freeman Chronicles is about to be released, hack even Prospekt [External Link] has Xen parts; so the jokes are not pointless. :-)

Well,

Painkiller Complete Pack [External Link] - 90% off

It looks like that is the only Painkiller pack which includes all DLCs for Hell and Damnation. It looks like I will be killing hordes of enemies this week after beating Black Mesa. ;-)

Quoting: MyeulCBy the way, what does "VPKed" means? Is VPK some kind of file format? (valve-pak? The original game used pak files, IIRC).
Yeah, Valve Pak. Most of id Tech games such as Quake, Quake II and even Half-Life (GoldSrc), as well as many other games use Pak files. But, Black Mesa is a Source Engine game which uses VPK as it should do.

Bastion for Linux is finally available on GOG, the game also now uses FNA

Quoting: liamdaweAll platforms have been updated to use FNA, it is not just the GOG version.
Well, Steam Community page of the game has no such announcement. Actually, only announcement is the release of Transistor... I checked the SteamDB page of the game; only related entry is the removal of "VMC Linux Test Pass" 17 days ago. I am not good at tracking sort of things, that's all I can say...

Good news! One day the original game will be released for GNU/Linux and it will be great. I got Deus Ex: Human Revolution more than year ago from GameChanger Charity but haven't touched the game on Steam yet. I wonder, does my purchase from the charity count for Linux or Windows? Also, how about SteamCMD downloads? Do SteamCMD for Linux downloads for Windows games count as Linux or Windows?
