Storm United FPS Updated, More Graphics Options, Less Crashing

I bought the game in the end, after getting an invalid key (:() and I must say I am a bit disappointed.... the game feels like an unfinished UT.
Reading from the previous post I thought it was more of a team game in the likes of TF2.

I didn't have any issues at all starting the game, and it runs pretty fluidly but some of the animations (rocket launcher) are just plain ugly.

So yeah, after getting the game for me and my cousin, I feel rather bummed, could have spent the money on better games.

Now I must say that the game does look good, and since it's in Early Access stuff is bound to change, so lets hope the devs steer this in the right way.

Hey Liam, in steam there is an experimental version out 1.2.3 (in the beta selection of the game). It's said that it fixes some of the linux issues. Can you give it a try?

Thanks guys!
We're going to provide 64-bit version of the game and also resolve dependency with Mono in the future releases. I can't say exact date when we will be able to do it as the game uses NoesisGUI for UI which is currently 32-bit only (on Linux), but the developers tell us they're working on 64-bit version
We're really excited about the reception of the game within Linux players (we was in Steam top sellers on Linux for some time), so we do our best on resolving these issues as soon as possible.
Regards!

The game has indeed had a rough start for Linux (even though it works flawlessly for me) but I can tell you that the devs will get this game working flawlessly for others.
I've been helping them with testing and started about a year ago. I can safely say that they are an indie company that really wants to bring out a very awesome game.

As for the game, at the moment it is very oriented to single player as multiplayer is exactly the same as single player. I know that they have a ton of improvements they want to work on and I also heard that they are already working on gathering data for the next big content patch.

So if the company doesn't go belly up I have a feeling we will be seeing a Terraria like content push. Added to that is the ability to create mods to add virtually anything to the game.

Why Are We Still Dual Booting?
12 Mar 2015 at 4:38 pm UTC Likes: 6

It was 2 months ago I made the leap again to start using Linux. Always been a major fan but I have always been a major gamer too. So it was hard for me to stick with Linux.

So 2 months I made the change again - deleting the Windows installation on my SSD and that was it. I did install Windows on another SSD but that one is not connected to the PC and is only used in case of real need (haven't found any so far).

I've been happily using Ubuntu Mate now for 2 months, learning, enjoying, gaming.

I booted to my Windows SSD this morning to test the performance of Cities Skyline (just to make sure it was not my PC), now my Ubuntu drive is connected again.

With the announcement of all the big games coming to Linux, and all the available titles - why would I need to go to Windows again?

Nice article and I agree that we don't need dual boot anymore unless you want to play some specific titles. Wine and Playonlinux have made it so that you can enjoy most of the games anyways.
