Exploring a floating island in 'Pocket Kingdom', a very well done throwback to Amiga games

Quoting: meggermanColor scheme is classic Amiga team17 look. Games like GODS, Chaos engine used this. I would say R.I.P Amiga but then its mostly all freeware now and there are several really impressive Amiga emulators on Linux :DHa, I have to laugh that you mention Team 17, then go on to mention two games by the Bitmap Brothers.

If gamers can just refuse to buy stuff like that, then maybe the companies will stop doing it. Paradox with it's grand strategies does the same thing... Pretty sure I've spent WAY too much on Crusader Kings II.,,

Quoting: killyouGood to hear but Civ 6 is not a great game at the moment. Considering very high price and DLC spamming one should really consider waiting another 2 years and get the whole package on a discount. People that bought digital deluxe edition that gives the rights to download the next 4 DLCs for free are screwed as already 2 of them are released, vikings scenarios and Poland as a nation. As much as I would like to play as Poland it's not justifiable to pay 5 euros for the DLC, not to mention the viking stuff. I'm less than impressed Firaxis.I finally gave in to get Total Warhammer while it was on sale, but I think we all need to start making a stand and not give into this stupid DLC crap. The past few Civilzations have been terrible about this. They implement SOME of the things in past games, then release the rest of them as DLC. I mean if they truly are full fledged expansion packs or new campaigns for things like Strategy or RPGs, then sure, I can see paying 10-20 bucks for them. But then you get games like Dead or Alive, where they give you a bare bones game with like 2 playable characters, then they nickel and dime the hell out of you with character DLC, and costumes and just random stupid crap. I think I checked to see what the full game of that was, and it was about 200 for everything...

SteamVR support for Linux looks like it's getting close

There are already a few native titles in Linux that have VR support, just need the SteamVR parts in place. I have 18 in my 'VR' selection on Steam that also have an install button. I think that's up from 6 or so a few months back when I counted, and I haven't really bought that many new VR games, they are just doing ports.
Granted that may not mean they'll work under VR under Linux and just the 2d version does. But that's still not terribly bad, and since most things are written in Unity, it's a good chance most are just waiting for SteamVR to work in Linux.

I do find it funny all of the 'SteamOS has clearly failed' and 'it hasn't been updated that much' or 'it's on the back burner.'
Do people realize that it's based on Debian Jessie? And that Debian's release schedule is.. glacial at best? Do people want a 6 month release schedule like Ubuntu? How much extra work by Valve would that take? There is a reason why they chose Debian. Debian Stretch is going into a Soft Freeze soon, then hard Freeze, so there should be a HUGE update to SteamOS once that happens.
I'm wondering how much of Valve's work is just being put back into Debian proper. Anyone who has been following the development of it, should be quite excited for the potential SteamOS.

So, just to add to this... how many tiny penguins + cookies + cake will it take to get a port from Bethesda? :)

Though, I'm going to guess this one doesn't include the voice of Leonard Nimoy (I think that was IV). Been a fan of the Civilization games since the first one, though I have to say the second is still my favorite, at least it's the one I've played the most. Granted by the time the third came out I was a working fool and didn't have time to spend playing it, I don't think it was until IV that I even completed a full game, and I still haven't done so in V. I'll definitely buy this though if it includes all the stuff that V should have, but was added to later.

Quoting: Aspyr_BlairThanks for answering this, it's exactly what I was wondering.. if we'd get a full game this time.Quoting: Mountain ManThe real question is, is Civ VI worth buying in its current state? Or is it like the last two iterations that really weren't worth playing until after at least the first expansion?I think that is what is making VI the biggest launch in franchise history. The game starts with much of what V had with all the DLC and expansions added in...and we all know Civ keeps getting better :D

I really need to try the gyro out some more. I tried it a tiny bit in Fallout 4 when I had three screen set up, but it was.. odd. I kind of stopped playing Fallout 4 anyhow, since I hate booting into Windows.
I have a roccat Tyon, which is awesome. I noticed the whole 'gaming mouse pad' but... are they actually useful?

I love both of my steam controllers, they seem to be the ones that fit my hands the best, and so are extremely comfortable to me. Though I always wonder why the rumble is still marked as experimental.

Wait until you get to Gastown and let us know how the performance is. It killed my system until I lowered the Landscape Particles.
Awesome game though. I dtill need to complete it, been savoring it.
I had an extra key on humble bundle I have to a friend, so I should win it before he does.

I don't know of a single game that was released later as open source that had the assets included. Even Freespace 2 was just dumped out there for free, then later the sources came with it and they opened the license.
Either way, 2 bucks for a game is nothing, you can barely buy a candy bar for that much.
