Hmm, today I've got a Hunter connected to my game while I was in the middle of a quest. Quite surprising and I lost him 3-4 times, just don't know what to do to escape him. So I switched the game type to private and he left. After that I tried to co-op with randoms and had 100% connection failure. Weird.

I cleared the both shaders caches and now have those blurry textures. Damn it, I hoped to get some performance improvement and instead have this. Need to experiment more.

Also, there were rainbow/blackout glitches. I doubt they were fixed as well. I could estimate that it releases not before 2017, maybe then the Linux version would be more in shape.

Quoting: ronoverdriveIt's a shame if it's true. I'm grateful to Mac as a platform since it pushes developers to porting to *nix and Linux isn't that far away from Mac. But once in a while Mac starts getting in the way.Quoting: rkfgI suppose not only it still has bad performance but also bad visuals. IIRC, the engine supports OGL 4.5 but they for some reason only support 3.x on Mac/Linux. And the "True Sky" plugin isn't supported on those platforms completely.Probably because Mac only supports up to 3.3 and Apple sees no need to upgrade it especially since they're pushing their Metal API now. Hopefully the Ark devs see the light and push Vulkan support along with their plans for DX12 since the UE4 will support Vulkan once its released.

As said, had to do mv firewatch_Data Firewatch_Data, then it works. One visual glitch, at the first night I had lighting popping up and down, err, I mean, it was night and the environment was noticeably lighter when I looked up and darker when I looked down. Not like the moon had something to do with that, it was a pure bug. The same happened inside the tower, even after turning the light on. When I entered settings and switched graphics from ultra to high and then back it stabilized and never came back. Weird.
Also, I recommend turning off SSAO completely. Gives an enormous FPS boost with everything else maxed out and nothing visually changes. I know what SSAO is but in this particular game or environment it's just not visible.
The game is wonderful so far. I read that it has only one ending so the choices don't dramatically change the gameplay but they matter, they are remembered and reflected in many little details. Who cares about the ending after all? It's only a single last event and you have a massive amount of them before that. Go make your own story.

Forgot to mention, I've set textures and everything else, excluding motion blur, to high. No blurries yet, got to the farm and everything is crisp and clear.

So, bought the DLC, installed. Textures are fine! While I've only descended from the mountains, I haven't seen any blurry lowres textures yet. I have GTX 770 @ 361.16, i7-2600, 32 Gb RAM. As I said, it was an issue for me when the game has just been released but now it's perfectly OK. I'll post updates if I see any bugs.

Glad that Feral is actively working on stuttering. In the meanwhile, this advice really helps for the gameplay part at least. Cutscenes with the shuttle still lag as hell but battles are much, much better. Thank you, pedrojmartm, for sharing.

Their copypasted response to all reports and overall quiet behavior is indeed troublesome. Hopefully, what has been fixed once should be easily fixable again. On the bright side, if that's the only issue you've encountered, we're quite good. It could be much worse like missing heads on Linux after the recent patch. They fixed it on the same day though.
