I had 8GB and experienced some swapping in some games (so I had to close firefox when I was playing such games)
Lately I upgraded to 16GB and now there's no swapping anymore.

'gifine' is a pretty simple open source tool for making small gifs and videos

Nice, I'll give this a try.
In the meantime, for all my gif needs, I'm still using ffmpeg + imagemagick
ffmpeg -i someinput.file -r 14 -vf scale=320:-1 -f image2pipe -vcodec ppm - | convert -delay 7 -loop 0 - output.gif
Or even, ffmpeg alone :
ffmpeg -i someinput.file -vf scale=320:-1 -r 12 output.gif

Quoting: AimelaWhile it would be somewhat nice for GeForce Experience to arrive on Linux, what I really want to see is for nvidia-settings to be as good as the Nvidia control panel in Windows.
hope you dont really want that mess and bloat that windows version has.
nvidia-settings on linux is so much better, but i agree we could use some more options there.
Agreed, nvidia-settings is much more confortable than nvidia's windows control panel (it's not as messy as amd's radeon windows control panel tho) but unfortunatelly it hasn't received new features for quite a long time.

- Added a replay buffer feature. The replay buffer is available in just simple output mode (for now, will add it to advanced output mode later), and allows the user to create snapshot recordings (via hotkey) of a specific amount of time prior to triggering the hotkey.
This is exactly the kind of thing that we missed until now (due to nvidia's Gefore experience lack of linux support).

It's basically a cheap and repetitive space shooter (with poor controls on top of that). I wouldn't recommand this game based on the gameplay, but if you enjoyed the movie (and b-movie's acting) you can give it a shot (or try the demo on steam first).
