Quoting: liamdaweOne thing this game has, is a special probe-like thing that can help you navigate in single-player, plus a map you can bring up. I'm usually the same as you, but thanks to those I've had no problems :)
Nice. Ta!

I didn't play Descent back in the day, but I recently made a snap of d1x-rebirth and have been having a blast with the shareware version. It is a very good game but I've realised I can't navigate well in 3 dimensions. I spend most of my time getting lost in corridors I've already cleared.

I don't know whether this modern version would suit me better?

Quoting: NewbazoidThere's a snap for it, so you can download that. I'll try to test it too.
I'm the snap maintainer. Unfortunately the current licence for boa prohibits distribution of development versions of the mod. As such, I can't release a work-in-progress version of chapter 3 as a snap.

Quoting: JanneI spent waay too many hours on Uridium on the C64. Looks a little dated but still plays really well.

Now, if we could get a modern remake of Paradroid...
There's already been a remake of Paradroid for superior machines: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quazatron [External Link] .

:)

All joking aside, I'd forgotten about this one and suspect I'll be picking it up soon. I doubt my reflexes will be adequate these days but it looks like a lot of fun.

I've probably spent more time playing Julian Gollop games than all others combined. I backed this one as soon as I heard about it; even if he doesn't deliver, I reckon I owe him a few quid for all the entertainment he's brought me over the years.

I bought this a while ago. I'm looking forward to playing it after release, but I was happy to buy it in early access to support your use of open source tools, open development and Linux support. I hope it all works out for you financially.

The game wasn't to my taste, but I'm glad they released on Linux so I could try it.

Enhanced Doom engine 'GZDoom' has a fresh release, now collecting hardware information

Quoting: razing32Are data slurps the new trend ?
I get helping with development but it seems to be a default nowadays . :dizzy:
It's the default because it's so extremely helpful to know exactly what kind of setup your customers actually use.
And it is exactly that kind of wrong doing this. Instead it would be better asking for help and not collecting information as default setting or some kind of opt-out process. Besides: We are not talking about "customers" and instead of that "users". Those steps do irreversible damage to free software!
It doesn't look as if any data are collected by default; it just pops up a dialog box where you can select whether you want to share. If you want to try it out, I've updated my Blade of Agony snap to use the new release. sudo snap install boa will get it on systems running snapd.

I thought Flare looked quite neat. If anyone is interested, I've made a snap of Flare and would value some testing and comments [External Link].

That's a great review, but leaves me conflicted whether to pick this up or not; in many ways, similar to Vienna which entrances and evades me in equal measure.
