Quoting: drjomsChoosing a smaller globe coverage definitely has an impact on speed, and it's not like you ever interact with 99% of the map anyway if you pick the biggest size.
I choose default stuff most of the time, for everything. Except for difficulty.

Quoting: ChrisznixDid you by chance rendered 100% of the planet scale? I never really got beneath 100 colonists, though.
I don't have that option in my vanilla game.
I have roughly 30 colonists and roughly 100-120 animals.
moment i put game to fast speed and zoom out on my ultra wide screen game goes 30- FPS on me.
That's not good enough for platinum game. They really need to fix their shit.

Would love to play it, but more successful I get - less FPS is get.

I would like to point out, Linux is defo a gamer's OS compared to OS. We are so disproportional on Steam, compared to OS X amount.

If for whatever exodus of windows users will happen - it will increase Linux Gamers ranks.
Future looks bright, at least here.

Quoting: drjomsIs multiplayer important for you? If yes, just use proton. My experience with native cross play was BAAAD. Windows/Linux players desync all the time.(same players played l4d2 no problem)
Not at all, no.

I basically stopped multiplayer games somewhere early in the Call of Duty series, when they stopped offering server browsers where I could choose an environment where toxic behaviour would have led to bans. I don't want to spend my free time with being insulted.
You can play game with your friends.

Quoting: GuestHow much are you willing to bet it's not going to work without a connection to Epic Games (specifically EOS)
And what makes you say that?
I just checked, DL2 allowed connection to other players with no Epic account.
