Quoting: NatedawgI can't find a purchase page either, the video still says you need pro but I assume that's just a remnant.Quoting: madmachinationsOooo does this mean the 3d module is now included in atomic? Or do you need the pro version still?I don't see a purchase page at all and all of the wording on the front page makes it seem like there's only one version now, the FOSS version.
I can compile it, but it segfaults for some reason when I run it. I'm going to try it under Ubuntu.

Quoting: mattsturgeon4.5 also has a lot of fixes for the xpad driver, including a fix for a really annoying crash [External Link] in a lot of games that was related to controller vibration (or sometimes LEDs)Oh sweet ^^ I wonder if it will work better with ps3 controllers. My laptop did not like it at all, and poking about on Google suggested it to be a kernel problem.

Quoting: fenevadkanis it possible to use more controllers in the same game on the same computer for multiplayer perpuse ? Like in a split-screen game, or in a one-screen game? like Dirt Showdown or a coop like Trine or Street Fighter V?It is possible, they did updates to make this better recently. You could use more than one controller before those updates but all controllers had to use the same bindings. Just make sure that each controller has been configured properly under BPM's "Add/Test controller" section, otherwise it has a habit of kicking you out of the game atm because Steam thinks its detected a new controller.
Ubuntu 16.04 dropping the AMD Catalyst/fglrx driver

I don't get what people seem to have against the Nvidia drivers either, they've always installed and worked great for me, never had an issue, its really easy. Catalyst however has always been a massive pain in my arse. Even once I had it working sods law says then there would be a kernel update, then X crashes on boot until you re-install :P.

Quoting: fabertaweHaha lol xDQuoting: ripperAs long as I have access to Windows in dual-boot, I'd never pick Nvidia. Nvidia driver is too much pain overall (not to mention that it's also the most aggressive, unlikeable, and opensource unfriendly company out there)It's lucky you have Microsoft to rescue you
p.s. I also don't understand the issues people are having with the NVidia driver, it's an absolute doddle to install (repo and compile) in Arch, as it must be in other distros.

I really wish AMD had maintained Catalyst until the new drivers were ready. I never used to have a problem installing it until around the time of Fedora 21, then it suddenly became a huge bitch to get working and got worse with every subsequent release.
I did actually email AMD about it and their response was basically "have you tried Radeon Software?". Which yes, yes I have, it just says my chipset isn't supported, even though the release notes say it is. Catalyst just breaks X.
At that point after much f**ktwattery trying to get my APU to play ball, I just gave up and built an Nvidia based gaming rig, which I couldn't be happier with graphically speaking. It just works its like magic :P.

Quoting: ElectricPrismI would love for our next cards to be AMD, however AMD is going to have to give me driver reasons to make the jump, not just Ideological or being Technically superior in hardware specs.I agree, the amount of games that just outright don't bother supporting AMD is both terrifying and understandable.
Real World Performance equaling or trumping nVidia in Open Driver needs to outweigh the loss of games that don't run well on AMD Linux.

Quoting: GuestI guess I'm screwed. Most of the games on my machine don't run without the driver. I love Grid Autosport and it didn't run at all with the open source drivers. Btw, I didn't buy a machine with AMD Graphics Card on purpose. My laptop's HD failed and I started using Ubuntu on an external HD while I got that one fixed(I remembered Linux could do that from the days I tried it and abandoned it because it wouldn't run my games and Adobe software). After that I fell in love with Ubuntu and decided to keep it but gaming has been unnecessarily painful. Good thing I installed windows on that external HD :/Not to worry, I'm sure somebody in the community will package up the driver. If not like I said you can always install it yourself. If you struggle to do so when its time then hop onto the GOL IRC channel and I'll give you a hand. I'm usually floating about there.
