Quoting: TheRiddickNow all we need is Microsoft to force steam games to sign in through their store system, now that would be funny as all hell! They did that on Windows. One of the reasons this here exists:

Since I didn't buy any Windows-only games for some time (except when cheated by the developers) my stash of older Windows-only games (among them Fallout 4 and the Witcher 3) slowly starts getting supported by wine. Nice.
But for some reason, the wine-party haven't managed to package the last 3 rc-releases for Debian, whereas they usually did within 2 days.

The whole game sports some kind of retro-look, there are 8" floppy disks lying around. Which partly explains their design decision:
The terminals are basically DOS from the 1980ies, except that all the commands have been renamed, and every user-friendly feature has not been implemented. It's not in any way comparable to the user-friendliness of a UNIX shell/terminal from the same time. The game would actually be more enjoyable if they had just plugged in a tcsh from an 80ies UNIX instead of that DOS-chimera.
Basically, if this wasn't a game, this utter piece of shit of a command line interface would be totally unacceptable.
That said, the game itself is quite nice and the puzzles are rather difficult.

Here's another way to look at the Linux market share on Steam

Same goes for movies. Here in Switzerland, typically the evening shows in movie theaters are in English, with subtitles. If you want it dubbed, you have to go to watch the movie in the afternoon with the children ;).
So the question to what this really boils down to, is, how big is the market for non-localized software. And it's really low in cultural-imperialist China (I always wanted say this one ;)).

Quoting: KetilI am Norwegian, but I run most of my software in English, including steam. I assume linux users are more likely to pick English over their native language than users of other platforms. This, and also Europe in general. The market share for "Games in English language only" is actually quite high; people do know enough English that most people are able to play a game in English if it's not available in the native language.

Naval combat and adventure game 'Abandon Ship' delayed, fun new footage shown off too

The ships look like, well, not ships. Tumblehome is missing, instead they have some weird buildings at the back and front. For that alone I'd get irritated enough not to play it.

X-Plane user data shows Linux usage holding steady

I have several versions of X-Plane, I think 8, 9, 10, but as I'm not really into flight simulators, I didn't bother to buy the newest one.
As for playing with wine, I used to play a lot (and I've even co-author of this https://github.com/Seegras/wine/tree/work/dlls/xlive [External Link]), but the last few years so many titles have been released on Linux that I mostly don't bother. Unless I really want to play a specific game.

So not matter how hard you violate Microsofts copyrights on Windows, you're not a pirate. You're just a copyright infringer.

Quoting: g000hHere's some Black and White for you..You're wrong of course, because you failed to notice that piracy is defined as robbery on the high seas, whereas this is about copyright infringement.
You play legitimately bought games on pirated Windows - you're a pirate.
