Humble launch the Fight for Racial Justice Bundle with 100% going to charity
17 Jun 2020 at 9:31 am UTC

Quoting: EhvisIt's a pretty great bundle of games. With one slight problem. If you've been buying games for a while, you likely own most of it already.
I think in this case the main point is to give to charity to combat racism, having the games is a bit less important. Also, there is the option to give the games away to those who might need them more than us :)

I think I like Japan setting better, but will definitely give this one a try too :D

Star Labs reveal their new Linux-powered Star LabTop Mk IV
12 Jun 2020 at 8:31 am UTC

I was in talks to Star Labs sales and they commented me about this option, happy to see it so quickly in the market. I'm in search of a laptop, and for the price this might be the best option so far!

System76 announce their 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen powered Serval WS laptop
12 Jun 2020 at 8:28 am UTC

Calling that monstruosity portable or even laptop (Whose gonna put that heavy heater on its lap?) it sure is a game of irony :D

Glad to see an AMD CPU on it though. As many have stated, an nvidia gpu makes it less of an option as well. In any case, I hope it sells well enough so System 76 can continue adding AMD in their products.

Supraland is leaving GOG after less than a year, dev says sales were low

I got the game, installed it once, and then left it. I shouldn't even have bought it in the first place.

Linux Mint votes no on Snap packages, APT to block snapd installs
3 Jun 2020 at 8:13 pm UTC

I am, in general, fairly neutral with snap. I don't quite like having to use a different package managers to install certain things, nor canonical ubiquitous control over it, but like @Tuxee mentioned above, for some things, namely commercial hardware, is just very handy and convenient (at time of writing bitwarden cli, digitalocean cli, intellij and postman)

Lenovo adding Ubuntu & Red Hat on their entire ThinkStation and ThinkPad P lines

Great move. If they expand the support to other thinkpad models will be even bigger news. However, I believe we should still support companies like tuxedo, purism or system 76 instead. For the same reason that we should buy our groceries from the local shop :)

Quoting: ArehandoroI wish they look into including some m.2 SSD out of the box and deprecate the sd card. Also wish had the money to do a cluster with several of them :D
Not an nvme but this is at least better than an SD card:

Saw that but will still require having an external SSD connected via USB to it (just nit-picking here haha)

The Last Faith, a dark gothic metroidvania is coming to Linux
27 May 2020 at 2:55 pm UTC

In that same page, at the very beginning, they also say :

"The game's plan is to be released on Steam (PC/Mac), Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and Xbox One."

With the addition to Linux in the later paragraph Liam mentions in the article.

I actually backed the game yesterday, but seeing Linux might be and after thought, not being 100% clear on the kickstarter page and considering my past experiences, I decided to go for the physical copy on Nintendo Switch instead.
