Love board games and pure chaos? Fortune Avenue is a new spin on Monopoly out in Early Access
27 Apr 2025 at 1:10 pm UTC Likes: 5

Hey Thank you for the article !

About @dibz comment, I'm sorry to say that's the title is the only thing that Fortune Avenue shares with Fortune Street. Fact is, I've never heard about Fortune Street before making Fortune Avenue... so you're going to get disappointed if you expect Fortune Avenue to be alike Fortune Street !

Sooo, Fortune Avenue is chaotic, and the patch I'm working on at the moment and going to get released in June will bring even more chaos to the game ! News rules to pimp the wheel of fortune, new cards that trigger votes... a lot of polish and improvements, the next update is going to be great, and the more I get feedback the better I understand what Fortune Avenue should be !

Let's be honest there, I made a game I like to play for real, but you folks have more ideas, to bring more chaos and more fun to it, so I take your feedbacks and put them into the game so it becomes a game that everyone wants to play !

Anyway thank you for the great article !
Cheers

Microsoft joined the Open 3D Foundation for the Open 3D Engine

Is it the engine that doesn't work on an open source operating system?
I like the known bugs from their release note, almost Linux only:

I'd rather see more post regarding real open source game engines such as Godot Engine than this kind of open source washing engine.
There is a brand new video about Godot Engine 4, that's quite interesting:

Quoting: quotI wonder if dropping in that missing `easyanticheat_x64.so` file would fix the issue. The removal seems accidental, so I'm assuming the main binary is still compatible. Of course, you're risking a ban if you try that, but I am curious.
It does fix the issue.
How did you get the correct file?
Chill, because even if you can start a new game, you're gonna get kicked out really fast by the server. I just tried, and it happend to me.
They have servers problem right now, the fix works

Open 3D Engine (O3DE) sees a first major release, Linux support in preview

That's funny cause I recently tried this engine, and I can tell the binary will work only with the specified Ubuntu version. Its broken on Arch and Debian. But there is a workaround, sharing a link to the root issue:

Thank you @liamdawe!
I apologize for that late response, I was quite busy with the launch of the game.

I wonder if I can add a tiny easter egg to the game, were a gaming magazine would have been named "Gaming On Linux", with the actual name? Otherwise Im gonna name it "Gaming On Unix" ;-)

City Game Studio will have you run your own video game company, coming to Linux in October

Thank you for this article @liamdawe. Sorry for this late answer.
