I am running this game on a alienware steam machine and I am pretty happy with the performance set with good settings.
I dont care about FPS if the game runs fine and I can enjoy it.
You are more likly comparing DirectX with OpenGL and not Linux with Windows and that on a port. What do people expect? I am happy the game is here and I can play it (No Windows household) .

Looks like Unreal Engine 4 has ways to go to fix up their Linux support properly.
I completely disagree. I think it's *their* code that doesn't work and is badly (inportable) written.
I've been in the Linux Game Testing for The Mean Greens - and I can say: They basically just built it and threw it out -- and it worked.
Yes, some maps were darker and had some issues. The water shader didn't work.
BUT: This was fixed rather easily and it's now fully playable and quite performant.

They themselves spoke positively about how the UE4 was easing their port.
I am in the testing too and as much as I remember, we should not discuss any of this in public until its released.

Wow, he don't know how to stay as a professional.
As the PC market is always changing, he never knows who is customers will be.. he might one day rely on Linux customers.

I am glad I haven't bought any of his shit and the crystal ball says I probably never will.
And that I will pass on to my friends and family and so and so..

I am using a Alienware Steam Machine with i5-4590T, 8GB RAM and crappy Harddrive. I didn't want to give out more cash yet for a SSD but I might do that later in the hope it improves game play..
Last night the game played like shit no matter what I changed in the settings, even going lower than 1080p to 720p made it even worse.

This morning for some strange reason, booted it up and the game was actually playable all on HIGH settings but I do have AA off. It still stutters sometimes and the right pad sucks, thanks for the tip with the mouse, ill try that out. It seems if you have issues, change your settings and completely restart the game.
In comparison, Mordor runs actually very well on my Steam Machine. So, I do hope they fine tune this game for better performance.
I don't know the FPS because I really don't care, all I want is to run nice.

All in all, the port is ok. just needs a little tweaking.
