The latest from Prime Gaming - November 29 edition - more for Steam Deck / Linux

I guess it depends on perspective. I was given a free month of prime after finally buying some replacement bits for my computer and after long time pluging in games codes I had more than 50 free games.. and only 2 with native linux versions!

Wow hitting version 1.0, you know what that means, someone somewhere has just written the first bit of code for the next Linux sound system to fix its short comings!

Steam gets overhauled with new overlay, Steam Deck big stable update

Well I'm giving this 2 thumbs down. I have to restart Steam everyday now since the content part of steam gets stuck on whatever was in it on sleep. And performance is terrible, the new achievement popup windows is incredibly laggy it seems it pegs one of my cpu cores at 100% just for a scrolling list of 75 items!

I can't tell. Are any of these on Linux?

Euro Truck Simulator 2 heads to Russia for another DLC

Meh, I think I'm done with the SCS truck simulators, tired of driving towards a big city and it being like 8 streets. I want someone to do a 1:1 simulator, it doesn't have to be a giant country but say 2 cities 200 miles apart, with a really large detailed city at either end with local deliveries and small towns in between that can make longer routes.

The Steam Spring Cleaning event is up to get you to play your old games
24 May 2020 at 2:10 am UTC

Well good start here, the first 3 games it recommended were 2 I had finished, Bioshock Remastered having of course finished the unremastered version, then Shadow Warrior where I finished the Humble DRM-free version. And the final game was a proton borked (although somehow it gets bronze on protondb) game Hitman: Absolution.

Add:
So apparently even if the game quits without showing up at all it counts. Fascinating 4th set of games it gave me, the original half life version of Counterstrike, Team Fortress and Day of Defeat. DOD & CS had no servers to play on with <500ms pings and the 4 CS servers I tried had passwords.

Add2:
What a blow out,3 games I tried didn't work with proton, 2 games were multiplayer with no players (let ballistic overkill spend 15 minutes looking for a game). One bright side was it reminded me I hadn't checked whether the recently free Aegis Defenders works in proton.

There is a little (chubby) penguin icon to filter.
Man thank you for that. Looks nothing like a penguin and would never have realised what that was!

Well I was going to say it had fixed my problem with the wallet stuff appearing under the menu stuff, but I just loaded up my invert skin to see what sort of disaster it was and found the money had moved, so skins fault. I hope someone comes up with a light skin quickly.

As for the client, every time I click on a game I can see it laying stuff out which is clearly slow and clunky. Hmmm I can't see shared games? oh I see they are jumbled up in uncategorized instead of under each user. And it still keeps changing offline to invisible in friends when I restart! The OS filter is gone? (or is that because I have proton enabled?)

It’s a tough time to be an indie developer, with Steam’s new sale event causing wishlist deletions

Damn there's no $1000 bundle of train simulator DLC you can wishlist!
