Yet another launcher/store.
Given the design of their webpage it will probably be a pretty annoying one as well.
Let them present a finished product and have a decent selection of titles(that better not be exclusive to their store) available and one may think about it otherwise... who cares.

Where are we going? - clearly all paths lead to Rome
Bellerophon riding on Pegasus is the emblem of the World War II British Airborne Forces.
Conclusion: TW:Rome II
Flushing point = Waterloo
Conclusion: Napoleon: Total War Imperial Edition

I do not get these games. They are visually annoying. They are worse in the sound department. They try to bind you long term by making you invest more money. So even if there is a good game buried underneath...why do people bother?

That does not mean we should forget what has happened and not draw our conclusions concerning pre-financing future releases, but there a much more offending players out there than a small company that delivered a delayed product.
The game is good. It'a native Linux title. What else can we ask for?

Quoting: GuestHB screwed up. Broken promises, long delays, and dubious communcation about it. But they're being given a free pass because people believe their money isn't worth as much as someone else's.They sure did and I was as annoyed as you still seem to be, but in the end they started comunicating again and delivered. It is time to bury the hatchet.

Quoting: hardpenguinTl;dr: making multiplayer code cross-platform compatible is extremely hard if it was first written with specific hardware, architecture and operating system in mind.Sure for a single title that seems a valid argument, but given the amount of titles in the Total War series since the first port....one might lean more towards: get this shit done already if you want me and at least two of my gaming buddies as customers!

If it is feature complete, multiplayer works cross platform (maybe someone with a fast internet connection can confirm?) and the 2 known issues are the only abnormality then I'd say it is a good thing they consider it a Beta internally and continue improving it.

It's not a Beta.
Linux is on the main branch.
Localisation (and possibly a fix for the infinite loading screens on non US-desktops) is still Beta, but that is true for other OS as well.
