I have to admit I've been boiling with hate over the past year with Metro Exodus' exclusivity crap and I yelled to the seven seas that I'd never buy/play Metro Exodus... That was before they announced it's coming to Linux... Probably the most unexpected piece of Linux news this year for me.
I still hate the exclusivity crap they threw last year to the gaming community, but the native Linux support is certainly a very nice pullback. I guess I'll balance my disapproval/approval with buying this game, but only when there's a considerable sale. I'll support them, but they don't deserve my 100% support.

I have to say that even when I'm still not sold on the idea of developers relying on Steam Play to cover Linux support, I still appreciate when a developer takes time and resources to at least make that option a good one.
Maybe is not what I really expect from a developer, but I guess is a fair compromise in some cases. Kudos to them.

Moments like these make me really wish for a crazy developer who publishes a Linux exclusive high-ish profile game!... But sadly, that's VERY unlikely to happen... Although, who knows... I'm starting to learn Godot, maybe I'll be the one who does it in a few years, ;)

I bought the Penumbra series back in 2016 and right after the Half-Life and Portal series, Penumbra, Amnesia and everything Frictional releases is pure gold. A great mix of storytlling, survival horror and puzzle solving, all very well balanced... and best of all, all support Linux natively. Frictional so far deserves all the support!

I'll put it this way... If Valve could do such gigantic effort to make a massive amount of Windows-exclusive games from different developers/companies run on Linux... I'm not interested in giving money to companies like Ubisoft, Bethesda or EA for basically doing NOTHING for us (when is now more than evident that they could). I will gladly buy Windows-exclusive games from small, indie developers that don't have the resources, but I will keep voting with my wallet.

Hey, Liam... Sorry if you already saw my post in Mastodon and just didn't find it interesting enough... I don't know if you just don't check that one frequently (I don't use Twitter or other "mainstream" social networks anymore)... Anyway, I posted about the developer of the cool looking game "Ellen Teaser The Fall" sort of confirming the game on Linux and even looking for beta testers in what seems to be a near-ish future.

They are my second favorite game company after Valve... (the third would be Croteam, probably).

Quoting: PatolaSOMA is great! And what happened to Frictional Games? Long time we don't see new games from them.I think they are working in 2 games at the same time. They have actually increased their team/resources with the successes they've had with previous games... I follow them in Twitter and they post from time to time updates about their current projects.

I think you should add SOMA ( https://store.steampowered.com/app/282140/SOMA/ [External Link] ) to the list!... I bought that a couple of days ago. Haven't played it, but being Frictional Games (Penumbra and Amnesia series), it should be pretty awesome and one of the few AA & 1/2 game developers out there that support Linux.
