I'm happy they added the Spidertron back to the development roadmap. They had plans for it earlier but decided against putting it in the game. It looks like they changed their minds again, though.

As a fan of the series, I will be picking this up for sure. I'd be happy with just the single player, although it would be really nice if they worked out the netcode for multiplayer properly this time. Unfortunately, I've never been able to finish a multiplayer game in Tropico 5. Every single game ended in a desync.
I love that the election speeches mechanic is coming back.

I love this game. It has been fun and interesting for every version release since I've owned it (0.13 maybe?). I don't think I recall any Linux-build related issues either - it has always run stable for me. I usually don't recommend early access games to people, but this is a rare exception. In my opinion, the game is worth the full asking price even in the early access state. It is such a cool twist on the base building type of genre.
It will be cool to see them implement auto-downloading of mods for the next release... perhaps that will boost the multiplayer community a little bit. I can usually find an early public game to jump into anyways with the mods turned off on the server browser filter, but more options that are easily accessible are always good.

Or you can just turn the screensaver/DPMS (Display Power Management Signaling) on/off via terminal. This is my preferred method. I'll switch it off when I'm playing a game with a gamepad or watching a movie.
Turn screensaver/DPMS off:
xset s off -dpms
Turn screensaver/DPMS on:
xset s on +dpms
Also... everything I've been reading about this itch.io store is good so far, so I may just have to check it out.

I'll keep my eye on this. Although I'm concerned about how they are going to handle building damage and such. The workshop assets are what make this game really great. Having the assets themselves be modified to be compatible with the snowfall DLC was a little annoying. Hopefully this DLC won't be set up the same way.
What have you been playing recently and how is it?

I've been playing...
Life is Strange
- Finished it. Probably the best interactive story game I've played to date. Really curious to see what they do with the live action series based on the game. And what they do for season 2 of the game itself. I do plan to replay season 1 of the game with the Director's Commentary. That and I do think the game is worth another playthrough. I want to see the other story choice outcomes along the way.
RimWorld
- The game is a little strange, but plays nicely. I'm not sure about the end game for it, but it is still in early access. Good music. Its fun to watch your colonists interact with each other randomly.
Tabletop Simulator
- A must have game if you have a few friends to play board games or cards with. The workshop has been filling up with all sorts of board games. The custom content really makes Tabletop Simulator great. Everytime I put the game down for a while and then start it back up, there is plenty of new content uploaded. They've also been implementing VR, which would be cool once that picks up on Linux. A friend of mine tested the VR on his non-Linux machine. He said it was pretty cool to walk around in the D&D sets as if they were full scale.

I found that particular bug to be appropriate with the storyline, so I saw it more as a feature than a bug.

Looks cool, but I'm still disappointed in Kalypso for their botched multiplayer of Tropico 5. Granted it was the first time multiplayer was introduced into the series, they didn't seem to put a whole lot of effort into making it actually work. To this day, I don't believe I've played a full multiplayer game in Tropico 5 without the clients going out of sync. Everyone ends up in their own different single player map started by human players.

Were these Steam keys? I just vaguely remember Steam throwing a hissy fit when I entered a Steam key from humble bundle or something in wrong more than once. Hopefully none of you ran into any problems there. From experience, Steam is all shiny diamonds and pearls until you have to contact their customer support.
