Quoting: Avehicle7887Liam (or anyone) can you please check of this game comes with a 32 or 64bit client?
I'm more concerned if the game will be 64bit. Didn't think if this one.
But the original is 32 and 64 so I suppose it's a given.
The client if you mean Beamdog's client is 64bit. http://client.beamdog.com/releases/stable [External Link]

Sounds like it won't require GOG or Steam, so I'm pretty confident that I will buy this.
And it's NWN… I mean come on.
I fact it is the only title that makes me excited (Due to other games requiring Steam, ofcourse).

Quoting: sbolokanovCan games bought from Humble Bundle be downloaded directly or are they just Steam keys, nowdays?
Depends, it's on a per-game basis and depends on the developer putting up a DRM free build.

Humble Store notes DRM free specifically if it has it.
I see, thanks. After a little digging I found a filter for DRM-free at the store.

GOG adds the Linux version of party-based RPG Pyre

Quoting: GustyGhostGOG does not force you to download anything 32 bit IIRC unless the game itself is 32 bit.
No GOG does not. But I have taken a no-GOG policy too. As I mentioned.
GOG/CDProjektRed will see no money from me!
Not to mention that I see nothing of interest in there. Quiet literally.

No-GOG policy. No-Steam policy.

I move to proper hardware (Vega I look at you) and buying more books (real books, the ones on paper).

To need to add 32bit crap on your 64bit system, just to download 64bit game is really annoying.

Rise of the Tomb Raider announced for Linux, port from Feral Interactive
2 Mar 2018 at 10:00 am UTC

Shockingly (as to me, too) I can say that I will not buy this game (or any future Steam game for that matter).
Unless of course we can play it without Steam. But I don't see this happening on Feral's side.

After the usual update of gcc/glibc and Steam stopping running (no 32bit support), I can say that I'm off with this.

This has two pluses:
1. I will not have to put up with 32bit anymore. Yay!
2. This has to be separated really:
a) Will stop feeding money to Steam/Valve.
b) Since I have a no GOG policy too, I won't spend money for games at all! WOW
c) all this leads to this - will save some money and feed AMD for their new policy.
I've been thinking about this for some time now. … NVIDIA, as they say.

Liam... don't use from-the-back camera when you drive. Use either from-inside, or on-hood.

The FPS 'Insurgency: Sandstorm' has a new teaser trailer
30 Jan 2018 at 8:31 pm UTC

It's on my to-play list.
Although we need more good single player FPS shooters. Except Metro is there something good that one can take a look at this time?

By the way, is there a place where you folk (linux people) play Insurgency?

Feral Interactive are teasing another Linux port, so that's two titles not yet announced

Quoting: sbolokanovBad performance isn't Linux issue. Windows game have bad performance too.
That's not what I'm talking about; I'm talking about performance *disparity*, and for *some* titles, it *does* exist.

As to whether this is a serious problem or not: To people who are *already* committed Linux users, it may not be a big deal; but we can't deny that it could be a serious deterrent for people whose #1 concern in building a desktop pc is gaming.
Up to the user to decide. After all, having the choice is good.
As of now we don't have the choice. Why? Maybe it's because they believe there will be no return (game already bought by most people - on Windows), so why limit yourselfs if that can help?
And no, I'm not saying that all games should have separate versions.

„but we can't deny that it could be a serious deterrent for people whose #1 concern in building a desktop pc is gaming.“
No we cannot. But I don't think that thouse who care that much for gaming will want to go Linux in the first place.
