Star Conflict Space MMO Launches On Linux, Finally!
4 Apr 2014 at 10:48 am UTC

Tried it out yesterday and was not overwhelmed to be honest. I tried PvP and PvE missions and maxed out the synergy of the first ship. However the action was not as engaging as I'd hoped it would be. A lack of purpose is noticeable. It's not really a MMO like TotalBiscuit mentioned. Perhaps it's all about the sector mode?

I was not impressed with the interface either. Map is confusing, match-making takes too long, support links don't really work and a quick search did not yield any links to an official knowledge-base for advanced concepts and options.

Not noticing I managed to spend all my coins by auto-replenishing some 'special' ammo I had to equip in one of the challenges :D

Needless to say I'm anything but a hardcore gamer ;)

Quoting: minjIt seems GOG were given full access to the source code to release it on their platform in 2013 (a year later) so I bet this whole 'lost' business is plain BS.
Source? As far as I'm aware, they just used the community patches, though I can't say I'm on top of Windows releases.

EDIT: I said 'it seems' implying that it's only my interpretation but after having read the whole interview on RPS I can't possibly see it other way.

Where is the problem to deactivate it for one use only (arrow with a 1)? It is just a cookie from Polldaddy.
I know that but it did not work initially.

The problem was that is was also blocked by Disconnect :P

Yeah, I know, I know...

Quoting: titiI want a copyright were people get forced to give their code to a official "registry" and in return they get the rights of a copyright of their software. After some years ( 10? or 20? ) the source should be free and available to everyone!
Yes, and after a while we extend it to 30, 50 years, death/liquidation of author(s), and then to 70 years after that ;)

Esenthel Next-Gen Game Engine, Supports Linux

The reason it does not work on Chrome is probably because your GPU is blacklisted. E. g. they have blacklisted all machines with optimus installed. And for a good reason it seems, flash is broken on Intel and Nvidia is totally broken on my machine. It was done 1.5 years ago and afaict no work whatsover has been afterwards. A-holes...

You can check if hardware acceleration is enabled by navigating to chrome://gpu/

DUELYST Squad-Based Tactical Combat Announces Linux Support With First Stretch Goal, I Asked Why
16 Mar 2014 at 8:03 pm UTC

Platform stretch goals?

Not unless they are reached early or you have access to other platforms that are supported.
Stretch goals should be used for perks. Being able to play a game is not a perk.

Sparkle 2 Evo Casual Action Game Adds Full Game-pad Support

I've tried it and was not disappointed. Then again I like these kind of games though and it's not really revolutionary so YMMV. I found the controls a bit flunky so I'll be trying out my gamepad for sure. Thanks for letting us know.
