Day of Infamy, the WWII mod for Insurgency is being turned into a full game

it funny because insurgency itself became a standalone as it was (and still is) a hl2 mod
now the same it's happening with Day of Infamy..
I have more than 300 hours with Insurgency, it's a great game, also thanks to the DOI mod that gives you another feeling if you get a bit bored of the terrorist vs "good guys" scenarios
I'm really interested in this standalone, let's cross our finger for a good Linux port (sometimes i have problems with Insurgency)

anyway the director's cut works fine, i just had to rename the infamous libstdc++.so.6 to get the game to start
it looks nice, anyway i still need to play the classics CRPG before this one

it crashed after selecting "new game", i'm on AMD
i solved this problem checking the log file at
~/.config/unity3d/inXile/Wasteland2/Player.log
(every unity game log a file in there)
it says that this file is corrupted and creates problems:
'/home/user/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Wasteland2/Linux/WL2_Data/Streaming/Scenes/MainMenu.unity3d'
after removing it i was able to launch a new game and select some characters, anyway i end up having no hud, a lot of graphical issues with the 4 charcters, no sound and the game stucks, only the esc button works..
i'll try again tomorrow also with wine gallium-nine

when i did some months ago it was more like a "crash simulator" experience honestly
something like what you can see in this video [External Link]
and when i ran it with wine the performance was like 1/2 compared to DIRiptide + wine on the same system..

They are marked as windows + linux on steamdb so it's really a sad news if they won't be available.
Dead Island is a GREAT game, unfortunately the native port sucks so bad and also on wine isn't that great.
Luckily Riptide runs great on wine so we can play it anyway, no big deal..
Let's see how this goes on, i'm crossing my fingers
