Holy crap! This is the only reason I wanted an OUYA so bad!

Haven't tried it yet on Linux, but this game is awesome in couch-local-multiplayer with friends... and alcohol (optionally).

You just made my day with this announcement.. Thanks!

Quoting: XpanderWill it be redeemable in steam when i buy from VP store?
i just don't want to have games from different places and deal with manual updates.
Same here..

And what's even more worrying: Will I be able to download the game at all?

That little "All digital products are delivered via the Deliver2Mac client." message don't give me a good vibe, considering the client is Mac exclusive..

Edit:

Ok, for anyone interested, the download of a ".run" file (around 3.2GB) is active from their site:

I don't think they will offer a digital Steam key however.

System Shock remake heads to Kickstarter, Linux is the first stretch-goal

I will keep an eye on this game and definitely buy it the day it releases on Linux, but I have seen enough kickstarters to understand that:

Linux as a stretch goal = Linux as an afterthought = Very unlikely day-1 release (or no release nor refund option at all)

Sorry if I sound cynical, but this has been my experience so far with most projects "using linux as bait" I decided to support (MN9 being the latest example), so I'm out.. That said, I'll be glad to be proven wrong.

--------

Edit: Asked Nightdive Studios (through the "Contact me" link) for info regarding a potential Linux port on day-1.. If their reply is affirmative (or at least reasonable) I will pledge, otherwise I'll just wait.. Now you can't tell me I didn't gave them a chance.

Two Worlds: Epic Edition now available for Linux in beta form, uses Wine

I think it's really great they are doing this for older titles.
Agreed... and I seriously hope that more developers/publishers consider doing this with their older catalog just to spare end users (especially SteamOS ones) the hassle of manually configuring WINE.
