HEADLINER, a game where you control the news might come to Linux

Quoting: darthderaqHow on earth would you "BAN the immigrants" through controlling the news? This game sounded like it might have been fun but from the description it sounds like another one of those games that has a heavy-handed political spin. I don't play games on my computer to learn about politics. I watch the news/do my own research. Obviously the developer can make any kind of game they like, I just feel like this is trying to cash in on political hysteria in the US and that ruins what may have otherwise been an interesting game for me. Still good to hear the developer is considering a Linux port. If it does ever come out on Linux I might look into the game deeper and possibly reconsider.

No offense intended but you are very naive. You massively underestimate the role news (aka propaganda) plays in the present - especially in the "western" world.

Very bad behaviour. If they kept showing Linux as a platform just to get the bucks knowing that they would not be able to deliver - that's fraud to me.

I was looking forward to this game very much. It is on my wishlist. I hope they clear this up very soon and it is just a matter of a minor delay.

The number of people using GNU/Linux as their Desktop OS is increasing. This is what netmarketshare and StatCounter both clearly show.

Also there have been insane improvements to the the prerequisites to gaming on GNU/Linux: the graphics stacks have gotten way better and there are a lot of cross platform engines (like Unity for example).

The absolute amount of games we have on GNU/Linux already surpasses any console that I am aware of. It is not all AAA games but quite a few of them.

Gaming on GNU/Linux has never been more valid than it is today.

According to StatCounter GNU/Linux is at 4% in Germany with ChromeOS being non-existant. One of the rare occassions where it feels like something is going in the right direction where I live ;)
