Quoting: mao_dze_dunActually, we have zero indication of this. I have absolutely no idea on what you're basing your assumptions, except for this one game, that was announced as a timed exclusive.Epic are giving away Subnautica the coming weekend. Since it not reasonable to think that the dev is just giving away their game to promote the Epic store, it is Epic pulling their wallet to bring in people. If they do it for this game, they likely did it for others as well.
Have graphical distortions in Unity games with NVIDIA? Here's a workaround

First time I actually see a screenshot from others. This exact problem occurs during the intro screen of Graveyard Keeper as well. Since the intro screen is black with a logo, the only thing affected is the steam overlay notification. Title/menu are unaffected, so there is no real problem with this game.
The interesting bit for me is that the distortion affects the steam overlay bit. Combine that with the top screenshot which shows the game screen that is under the text box, it looks like an issue with the way overlays are used in Unity games.

Quoting: mao_dze_dunThere are tons of Steam only games. Why is all of a sudden Epic evil for having 3rd party esxclusives? That's not really true. Steam keys are sold everywhere and as I understand it Valve doesn't get its 30% for a key activation. Other than that, I don't think Valve have ever looked for store exclusive. But that may be more due to the fact that they had a long head start over every other store.

Quoting: ShmerlSo the store is out. Does anyone know if they provide any DRM-free options in GOG / itch.io style? I.e. downloadable packages that don't require any client?Do they actually sell anything right now? When they opened, everything was on "coming soon". That said, I seriously doubt you'll be able to do anything without the Epic Launcher.
I was asking around, and no one seems to know.

Quoting: XpanderHandling is pretty trash for this game, the procedural generated tracks while interesting idea are more repeative than real tracks. Road surfaces are boring(not many bumps and holes and so on)Yeah, I got the impression that this is more for an audience that likes a less punishing sort of racer. Plenty of those around I suppose.
i mean it probably is fine game for some money, but for the asking price of 55€, naah pass.

I wasn't actually expecting this one. Release would be almost two years after the original, which is a bit on the late side.

I also have a confession to make, I have still never played Psychonauts. Am I mad? Should I seriously set time aside to play it?Good question. I have it, but never bothered to actually try it.

Quoting: KristianIt does however sound like they have nothing like CEG. It seems like a "You want DRM? You supply DRM" attitude. If they stick to that it is an advantage over Steam.Or not. The Steam DRM is not particularly invasive. The "other" drm that might be chosen instead could be a lot worse.

That 12% is something they had to do if they wanted to stand any kind of chance since they can't offer a customer base of a few hundred million people. Question remains what they will do for that. Steam is a whole lot more than just a store and it remains to be seen how effective they will be in the competition.

Quoting: svartalfKickstarter, etc. are not buying things, to be brutally blunt here- when you contribute, you are investing into the making of a title, ...You're also not investing, since that would entitle you to some part of the ownership. You're donating. And if you're lucky, you get something for it.
