I've owned three previous versions of this game and I have to say if you're looking for a way to waste a Sunday afternoon and you love baseball and sports statistics...there is no better way! There is great satisfaction in drafting players you watch evolve before your eyes to become stalwarts in your lineup season after season. You start to become attached to them and it becomes difficult to part ways with them when the inevitable career decline kicks into full gear.
The game features great customization options too allowing you to create jerseys, logos and custom leagues. At the moment I've got enough games in my queue that I haven't gotten around to playing yet...but sooner or later...this will receive many hours of my free time! ^_^

Paradox Believe Great Games Fight Piracy

I love Paradox's view on the topic and the philosophy they've employed. I believe it was Valve's Gabe Newell that referred to piracy as a "service problem". As far as music and movies are concerned, the easier it is to purchase these things in a preferred format the easier it is to use the official channels rather than having to go through 'alternate' routes. I used to buy DVDs like crazy whenever they dropped below the $6 threshold despite the fact they were packaged in such a way to seemingly deter the buyer from actually opening them. THEN a friend started lending me his pirated flicks and suddenly all annoyances were gone! I didn't have to search high and low for particular films and there was no over zealous wrapping to remove. For television I now have Netflix and Hulu with no need for cable or satellite.
With games...Steam sales and Humble Bundles make games extremely affordable now so long as one has the patience to wait for the temporary or permanent price reductions. I have more games in my Steam library and Humble Bundles than I have time to play. When I started PC gaming in the days of the Commodore 64 it was much harder to acquire games so pirated copies passed around on floppies was commonplace. For every game I purchased back then I was lent 2 that were pirated. Currently I have zero pirated games thanks to the ease of which I can come into possession of the 'real' thing thanks to digital distributions services such as Steam.

Why Are We Still Dual Booting?

Installed Windows 7 so that the girlfriend could work from home (Microsoft Office) but I quickly became annoyed with the seemingly non-stop updates of which most wouldn't install unless in safe-mode. So for Christmas I bought her a laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed and wiped my own drive for a return to my pure Linux system. Pure bliss!! There is so many good games now with Linux support I have no need to dual-boot for gaming. Now the problem is actually finding the time to play all the games I have in my Steam library. ;)

Quoting: GuestI played through this one before on windows, it was addictive for like 2-3 hours, then once I figured out the pattern to win the first level, all the joy was gone because all the other levels could be won with the exact same pattern. I found it weird though how the first level seemed harder than every single level I played after it.I totally agree. I played this for close to 2 hrs on my android tablet and was engrossed for just over half of that time then...boredom. Still great news that yet another popular game is headed our way.

I'm very excited by the potential of this game. I too am not particularly fond of football and find soccer to be very boring. I, however, love sports simulations such as OOTP Baseball and am fairly active on WhatIfSports.com. Some will request the ability to watch their club in 'real-time' while they play (rather than simply viewing the results after the games are simulated) but I for one don't think it's necessary. Games such as OOTP Baseball have this feature and I've never used it myself. Will purchase this upon release!! :woot:

Many gamers dual-boot and therefore have already purchased Windows games that are just now having Linux clients released through Steam that do not require platform specific purchases. This will hurt the Linux sales figures and I'm just wondering if this is taken into consideration when looking at your total sales by platform before deciding whether or not support is feasible for Linux in the long-term for a game company/studio/publisher such as SCS Software? Will Steam provide you with figures supporting the number of Linux installs of your product??
