GTA V.

Yes, it runs on Steam Play/Proton :D

Needs a workaround to make it start, and it occasionally starts stuttering after a while, but overall it's a pretty smooth experience.

Some thoughts on Valve’s new Steam Play feature and what it means for Linux gaming

I don't share the view that this might harm native ports. The way I see it, there are two types of developers.

1) Those who care about Linux users. They will anyway prefer a native port, as the stability, performance etc. will always be better than running through Wine.

2) Those who don't care about Linux users. They would most likely not have made a native port anyway. So with Steam Play/Proton we get at least a chance to be able to run it on Linux, where it would not have been on Linux at all otherwise.

Basically, any additional way of running games smoothly on Linux is appreciated and will help the platform in the long term.

The End Is Nigh is now in Beta for Linux

Great news, I've been waiting for this!

I bought it immediately and it runs well on my Ubuntu box.

The End Is Nigh could be on the way to Linux

Quoting: abelthorneEdmund McMillen only does the art part and game design of his games, he's not really a developer (though I think he made the original version of TBoI in Flash). Tommy Refenes was the coder on SMB and it's Tyler Glaiel who coded The End is Nigh (and said on Twitter that there would be no Linux version).
You meant to say that Edmund is not a programmer, which is right. As an artist and designer he is still very much a developer, though.

For my part, I'm super happy to see this game come to Linux (if it indeed does come to Linux). Edmund's games are exceptionally well designed, and there are good reasons why Isaac and Super Meat Boy have cult followings.

I finally discovered 'The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth' and it's damn good

I think it's best described as a nightmare version of The Legend of Zelda (NES). The story is of course a twist on the biblical Isaac, but it's deeper (and more disturbing) than you might expect.

The replay value is massive. I'm 319 hours in and not bored yet.

Easily my favorite game of the last 5 years.

What have you been playing recently and how is it?

Bioshock Infinite, thanks to the fact that I finally have a graphics card that can run it.

What have you been playing on Linux recently and what do you think about it?
